Interesting. I have an 03 ranger 4x4 and have stock 16x7 rims with stock 245x75x16 tires. I was told by my ford dealer that I should not go to 15" rims because it would damage the 4x4 gearing. ...

I just put on Monroe sense trac shocks last weekend. They seem to ride good and are reasonably priced. Put them on an 03 r.c. 4x4.

I had a similar problem with my 03 edge, 4x4, auto. Needed a new transmission mount and they greased the slip yoke. Cost was $148.00. Hope this helps.

I have exactly the same problem with my 03 with a 3.0. It only misses at idle (and not too bad). Plugs and wires are good. New air filter.

I just bought a 2003 ranger regular cab 4x4. When I accelerate forward from a standstill, I thought I felt looseness or slop in the drive train. I think Ford has had problems with this in the past....
