Haha I'm around, been super busy with work and winter conditions. The usual BS around here. Hopefully back in town Saturday to get something, only problem is its all private property and even though I work here they frown upon private vehicles on railroad property... I could get some great ones without the truck in them.
Looking forward to seeing what Desjardo comes up with though, should be something good.

You should get yourself a Rocket Blower to keep the dust off your lens and sensor. I see that you're going to re-take your photo. You can ask STL about it but I'm pretty sure its ok to remove dust specks from a photo.

I live like Less than a minute from tracks, but the trains come SO RANDOMLY.

By the time I hear a trailhorn...I'd be gone by the time I found my keys, got shoes on...etc...

we have a really cool engine out in front of a business I was going to use, drove by yesterday to scope it out, it was buried in snow

See if you can get permissions to take photos at a train yard. I wasn't granted access but you may have better luck.
