Default Rusty Truck Body Lift

About a month ago I ordered a body lift for my truck and started the prep work and found out I was in for a big overhaul. I started out by removing the factory plastic bedliner and was greeted with this!

Nice Big Freaking hole of rust!

As soon as I saw that I started hitting every bolt with pb blaster. At school later that week me and a buddy started trying to break the bed bolts loose. All of em broke loose and 2 broke.

I finally got the bed off and then started on the front bumper and found more rust!

I started doing work to the cab and actually had everything go smoothly. The bed was a different story. We finally got the big hole rigged up and started checking for more rust and found 2 more holes in the bed. We finally got those patched up and ready to go back on. I ended up pressure washing and scraping the whole frame then painting it with bedliner. Looks great now but I forgot to get pics of all of this! Sorry guys!! Here it is with the cab lifted.

During the 3rd week of working on the truck my birthday came along and a lot of my family helped me out with getting some wheels!

After a little bath

And finally the finished product!

Before

After

Looks really good, rust is the only reason I haven't done a body lift on mine yet, but I'm really thinking about it soon. About how many hours do you think it took total? Without the frame painting or welding the bed?

Its hard to say but I think if I didnt have to do the welding and painting I could have finished it all in a full saturday. The best thing to do is go ahead and tackle the easy stuff like seats, bumpers, and breaking everything loose on friday and doing the rest on saturday. I pretty much did the whole thing by myself so if you have a helping hand itll easily be a day project.

Its in my signature haha but theyre 285/75/16s. Just make sure you uses pb blaster everyday for at least a week and then heat up the bolts when you take em out. makes life a lot easier.
