This. Dad lived in Decatur and we'd drive up there every weekend and get Combos on the way, except it was a little Mitsubishi Lancer lol

You kept that truck spotless! I can see getting that Lexus and taking some dope pics with it. Don't get another ranger it won't be as special as your last one.

So, this is my ride as of now. My mom's old car, may or may not have posted it before...
It's kind of a piece but I guess it works until something else comes along. Whatever I end up getting I'll probably start a build thread in the off topic section like others have before, I can't just stop hanging around this place like that haha. You guys are fam.
I heard from insurance last week that the truck was confirmed a total loss. I knew it was coming but it still hurt to hear... Not a day goes by without me thinking about it, I'm doing better than I was but my heart's still heavy. It's hard losing such a massive part of your life.
Otherwise, the police report has me at fault so we've got to dispute it, and I still don't know about insurance money, I guess that will come after the report is fixed. This whole thing's some bullshit.

So the alternator in the protege is gone, back to no car for me.
In other news, I found out how much I'm getting from insurance... $4200

Re: Stewart's '97 XLT
Don't worry, alternators aren't too expensive or difficult to replace, and that is a nice sized check to spend on a new car too!
As for what irishranger said, I got another Ranger after I got into an accident. (Actually I got 2) and most of the mods I do are actually one of 2 things... either I am trying to make it like my first truck, or doing things I wanted to do to my first truck. Either one makes me really sad and always miss it, but I cling to that sadness because it would be worse to lose the memory altogether.

Re: Stewart's '97 XLT
They definitely didn't stick to the book. I was expecting $2200 tops. I feel like they looked at the situation, the overall immaculate condition of the truck minus the wreck, the mileage... They knew it was something special. I don't know if that shit actually happens but that's the only way I can think.

That's a good amount. My insurance company gave me $3220 for mine and they also reimbursed me for any prior repairs that weren't maintenance-related (oil changes, brakes, tires, etc)
And they definitely cut me a break because my first Ranger was the definition of a hooptie. Had a real torn up seat, scrapes and fading paint, 240,000 on the clock.

Re: Stewart's '97 XLT
Was browsing autotrader tonight and found this. Heavy heavy consideration...
It's a 1993 with 98k miles, essentially 2 owner, full carfax, midnight indigo pearl (which I'm looking for) on dark blue interior... My only issues are it doesn't have the Nakamichi stereo (but that can be dealt with later) and it's all the way in North Carolina.
