As far as the basic 'off the shelf' system from Ron goes - it's really just a glorified bolt on type of deal - He provides everything. No special tools are needed. Complete directions are included with the standard RP Caster kit.
On the other hand, my install will be much more involved because I am upsizing all sorts of stuff due to my planned upgrades (Injectors, MAF, Throttle Body, Water/Meth injection, smaller pulley, dyno tuning, etc).

Ahh ok so basically its a 5-10 hour unbolting and bolt on. And i was also wondering if it came with directions so thanks for clearing all that up. And by the way you have a bad a$$ truck

Even if your going with the basic setup - I'd still plan on a solid weekend.

May 9th: Shifting gears back to one of my other truck adventures.
Jon @ Fearce Offroad is getting closer to shipping out my bumper.
Here are the pictures he sent me of the progress:

Re: Project Budget Buster
May 23rd: Just a little update.
I got my smaller 2.8" pulley installed on the supercharger in place of the standard 3.16" setup.

Are you doing upgraded fuel rails? His set up is nice for the money.
What gauges are you doing? Fuel pressure, boost/vacuum, wideband...?
The water/meth should do really well, it's almost a necessity during summer.

Yes sir - overall it's not a bad deal at all. The kit already comes with the upgraded fuel rails.
In addition to the changes I need to make to accommodate my upgrades, I'm also tweaking a few things in order to better suit my tastes (not a fan of the bare copper tubing & some of the fittings).

Yep - All of the above.
My single round Zeitronix gauge is a 'multi-gauge' type setup. So the one gauge can display any of the items monitored by the main ZT-2 unit.
In addition, the ZAVT-1 module is basically a warning box that I will program via my laptop to activate using any of the Zeitronix ZT-2 recordable parameters as a 'trigger item'.
A couple examples of the warnings I could program are:
Simple Warnings (One or more single parameters exceed limits):- Example: Boost greater than a selectable value.
- Example: Fuel Pressure lower than a selectable value.
- Example: AFR below a selectable value.
- Example: AFR above a selectable value.
Complex Warnings (All parameters listed must exceed values):- Example: AFR greater than a selectable value and RPM greater than a selectable value.
To display these warnings - I'll have two LED's mounted on the gauge pod itself: - Red = Engine Management System reports an 'out of range' condition.
- Amber = Water/Meth injection system reports a 'Low Fluid Level'.

Nice. You'll be at what, 7lbs boost with the 2.8 pulley? I kinda wish the RP kit was more complex than a box with 6 holes in the bottom and some copper pipe, but it works so that's what matters. The gauge you got sounds like it'll be great, way easier than trying to mount 3 traditional gauges in our trucks. You getting headers and exhaust too? Didn't see them mentioned

If I was closer to sea level - that would be about correct. However, I will 'register' less than that just due to my elevation, but the engine will be 'working' just as hard.
I'm sitting at over 5,000' above sea level. But relatively speaking, that will be what I am running.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean.
There are some really nicely machined components, then on the other hand, some pieces are a little too 'backyard' for my liking - so I'm tweaking them a little. Mostly due to my upgrades, but some are 'just because'.

Yep - I already have titanium ceramic coated JBA headers and a complete Magnaflow stainless steel cat-back exhaust system installed so I should be all set on that front.

It's a 4-quart setup from Mag-Hytec ( Ford 8.8", 10 Bolt - $255.00)

Re: Project Budget Buster
June 1st: I sat down and figured out all of the wiring I'll need to install for the engine datalogging system as well as my water/meth injection system.
Those full factory wiring guides for my truck are sure paying off right about now! LOL
Tossing my finished files up here mainly just for record keeping purposes:

Re: Project Budget Buster
June 3rd: Some components for my intake are starting to show up now.
A whole bunch of 304 Stainless Steel T-Bolt Clamps & various 4-ply reinforced silicone couplers (5 layers of silicone + 4 layers of reinforcement).
I picked up standard couplings; hump hose couplings, straight reducers, and bending reducers – all sorts of goodies!
I should be able to make something work with all these at my disposal! Lol
I also grabbed a universal section of 3.5” intake tube material from Airaid ( Jegs - 3.5" Intake Tube Material). They call it part of the ‘U Build it’ system.
It’s very similar to the plastic material that companies like Airaid & K&N use on their intakes. You can cut this material along the scored sections to obtain all sorts of different lengths & bends.
I think it provides a nice finish to a custom air intake without looking homemade & cheap.

Re: Project Budget Buster
Some people have been asking about my HID projector retrofit & the items I used.
Here is the breakdown of the major components used:
I then purchased some ‘Thermally Conductive Epoxy Encapsulating & Potting Compound’ from MG Chemicals in order to make my Denso Ballasts 100% waterproof. You simply mix it up and pour into your ballast until it almost overflows.
Here is where you can purchase some, the part number is 832TC-450ML: MG Chemicals
I learned about the product here: Waterproof your Ballasts
Finished Product:

I love living at like 20 feet above sea level lol. I'm interested in seeing what you come up with instead of the copper pipe. Luckily one is hidden behind the motor under the blower, but the EGR one is hard to hide.
