Default J.T.'s Ranger Building

Hey all, just got this bad boy on 3/30/13 can't wait to get started on it.

http://www.freeimagehosting.net/newuploads/7ydl2.jpg

There isn't a door sticker on it but what I do know is that its a 3.0 Flex 4x4 w/ORP. Would like to know my axle ratio, I'm told I can look for a stamp on the T-case.

Was involved in a minor front end accident, bought it from some shop guy, which I never trust.

Has a death shake at 60mph (no wonder he didn't want me going on the highway in the test drive) Hoping that the tires are just out of balance since he did just replace one of the hubs and they are tight.

It's missing the front skid, and the lower valance doesn't have the fogs, even tho the wires are there...

The plans:
Clean up everything and work on some minor MPG gains (think I'm getting 12) possibly the hubs aren't disengaged from the front?

Air intake, been looking at pro's vs con's always had CAI's but I'm reading a lot of mixed feelings, I already have the parts for it...plus the debate about exhaust being done to work with the increased flow but I'm worried about back pressure and scavenging.

Roof rack and lights

Will need new tires soon, so might as well get some black steel kinda deep dish with the circles cutout all around, don't know what they're called.

I dig the Roush Fiberglass Hood too I saw someone had that on here.

Replace the front skid, likely from RCI and probably some kind of front pushbar/bumper. +lights +winch if I can get a deal O.o

Possibly a chip, thinking Superchips flashpaq or their VIVID linqs so I can view and clear codes, get a readout on what's going on in there.

Possible swap to a full size bed off a pristine 01 ranger with a blown engine I'm picking up

Headlights and grille swap to '01

Paint/Plasti-dip since the bed will be black not tan/gold.

If anyone has any suggestions or do's or don'ts then let me know, I'm a college kid on a budget but I'll try to keep things going so it's not a waste of space on here.

Time is flying by at the end of the semester here, but I still try to get some work in on the beast.

Discovered that the instability and sound was from on of my tires has a shifted belt and cannot be balanced...

Next Installed a nice cut down exploder roof rack from the local junkie 20$~

I then rubbed it with epoxy to give it a cleaner newer look
Before:

After:

Next up I realized that my interior lights weren't coming on when I open my drivers side door. I took the door apart, shorted the connection and still got nothing. I looked behind the kicker panel and found a connection just hanging, and then a broken grounding ring so I made a new one.

Now if only I could make that horn work... lol

been holding off on updates!
Here we are with some Nice new tires, turns out my wobbling was due to there being a decent amount of water in the front tires....

Here we are bumper and tow hooks removed, bumper supports cut.

Lining up the new T.A.G. bumper courtesy of jkron

Plus these big ass frame bolts

Took her out to the woods and cought my radiator shroud

Back to the shop to make a skid, sometimes ya just gatta torch cut those tough to reach corners

Not to shabby, layed out on the polar bear skin rug

Becky is back in the wild

It's important to take some time to relax.

Here I gave her a lil black dress to kick down the rocks and rust w/a jar of bed liner.

A few more things recently, but I have to take pics.
I also evened out the ranger lean from the last owner, but ended up lowering it instead of raising it, now im pretty sure my joined are all worn to shit cuz I have a pretty squeeky ride.

RS5000s next~~~?
