But really...if you love your truck, go to the self serve washes....and they are the best in winter because you can really get up under your truck and get the salt and grime off!!
I pretty much said that in two sentences. -.-

If you do go thru an auto wash, make sure its a TOUCHLESS one...and never go thru the ones with the brushes and hanging rubber mop things!! Those are horrible for your paint!
I took it too a local car wash. They do a very nice job. They do not wash cars with mops or anything like that either. But when I got home I looked at my rims and one was peeling. I peeled it off and I like the shine of the chrome better than the matt black.

Y u no quote me???

That's because YOU should carefully hand wash your vehicle properly. Have some one on one time with the truck. Take good care.

I see what you mean but its not like I took it too a place where they don't give a crap about your vehicle. I took it to a place where my dad personally knows the people and where my dad takes his truck.

That doesn't matter....i personally know my brother...but i would still never let him wash my truck.....
so if i won't let my own flesh and blood family wash my truck, no way im letting some stranger who i think "cares about my vehicle" wash it!!

----------

Here's a story for you...my stepsister washed her aunts brand new toyota camry.....and was having trouble getting some bugs and gunk off, well she took a scotch pad to it...yep...got the whole car good and clean!!

You got me there. Lol. Well its over with and I can't take it back. But I don't think my city has a self serve car wash for the winter. Atleast I've never seen one or heard of one here.

Call me dumb but what's a scotch pad? I assume it took the paint off?

There are tons of self-serve washes, in full heated bays, around here!!

and a scotch pad, a 3m scotch pad, like for ruffing up surfaces.....yeah it just scratched the hell out of the paint..

also used for ruffing up the surface when doing roll-on bedliners.
