I wouldn't even go that far. Just sell now

My parents insist on getting it fixed but they even said if anything else major is wrong they would not fix it. Financially it makes sense for me to fix it because I can still make a greater profit selling it repaired than not. My parents said they'd help me out and pay for half of the repairs.

Head gasket is bad (as we thought)
Radiator has a hole in it
heater core is shot

$2200 in repairs so far.

My dad also requested that they put it up on the lift and go look through everything before they fix one thing to make sure nothing else major is broken. If anything else needs repair it wont be worth fixing it and will probably try and sell as is.
Radiator is maybe $100 to replace.
Not sure about the heater core.
Headgaskets would be maybe $100 if u did them yourself. Would take maybe 3 hours.

So $2200 is just ridiculous.

I can't do this stuff myself. I do not have the know-how nor the tools required.

I also need a vehicle for work and school. My brother with his ranger will start work soon and I wont be able to borrow his anymore.

Can't and Won't do it himself are two different things.

I didn't think i could rebuild my engine myself...but i did.
A torque wrench, some other wrenches and sockets is all the tools he needs.
Fuck im close enough if he wanted i could come out and do it and help if he wanted.

I agree with this 100%. I feel like as soon as I fix something I'm just waiting for the next thing to break.

Bitzy if u want to get rid of it thats fine. But it would be nice if eventually you learn to do some stuff bro.

Two years ago i would have said theres no way i could rebuil an engine and do a swap in a truck.

Maybe I don't need many tools but I still wouldn't trust myself working on some of the most important parts of a vehicle. What if I mess up and ruin the engine itself? Then I come out with nothing and get scrap price for the truck. It's not worth the risk IMO.

There are more rangers and or cars out there that I feel I could trust in more.
