New transmission? No way in hell would I buy that. Is the transmission really new, or is it rebuilt, or is it just a junkyard transmission from another Accord? Who rebuilt it? Do they know what they're doing? Was it a full rebuild, or was it a half-rebuild?

Well my dads beater car is the same exact car. He's not had a single problem with his.

I'm sure there are plenty of trucks just like mine too, but not all of them had rebuilt valve bodies and missing parts that ultimately led to the transmission blowing up at 78,000 miles.

It's not the car you have to worry about. It's the rebuilt transmission you have to worry about.

I like the looks of the car. Most Hondas are very reliable. But yeah I agree with Shawn I would ask for receipts/info about the trans. And if it went out was it from irregular maintenance or what. I like it though!

My truck is schedule to go to the shop on January 5th. They are going to make sure it's a head gasket issue. If it is they said it will take 3 days to fix.

Side note: if anyone sees an 01+ ranger worth looking at in North Dakota while they browse craigslist, feel free to post the link here.

I love my ranger but its not in good condition. Scratches everywhere, hail on the hood, mechanically its not been so hot, so I see this as a chance to upgrade to an 01+ 4.0 ranger. Now I know what to look for and I wont rush into buying one like I did this one. (I was just very excited to get a first truck I overlooked a lot of things.)

I will definitely consider rangers for my next vehicle, however I might sell all he accessories for a clean start.
