That's not the problem because my ultraguage is reading the engine temp at 250 degrees. It should be around the 200 mark.

----------

Let's say it's not the head gasket. What else could cause the bubbling?

Does your truck blow white smoke out of the exhaust pipe?

Yes. A ton of it. But doesn't every car do that during the winter?

Nope. It shouldn't be much, and it should clear up. If it keeps blowing out white smoke, and a ton of it, you are burning coolant which means bad head gasket.

It looks like I'm rolling coal with white smoke. That's how bad it is.

Would the truck run rough with a bad head gasket? It runs fine right now other than the over heating.

Not necessarily. Definitely a head gasket though.

Does the temp go down when you are driving? Only over heating at idle?

It over heats when I'm on the gas. But it doesn't do it all the time. Yet in noticing it more and more each day. It doesn't overheat at idle.
