Fucked it up today!!
Going down the interstate with my trailer, the bracket and pin that keeps the bed from tilting broke, the bed tilted up and started walking on me, i slowed down and it went into the side of my truck...

Oh man that sucks. Glad nothing bad happened and your ok. Where's the fender flare? Looks like that will cover most of the damage

no the fender flare wont go back on like that....
but i have to say it for bushwacker, that fender flare is dam tuff!! it busted off, the plastic xmas tree retainer clips broke, and the bedliner on the flare got scuffed up, but the flare itself is still intact, not broke or cracked.

Sucks about the trailer but really it could have been a million times worse.

I was expecting worse from the first picture. Can't believe that pin just broke like that, I assume it was the one that came with it?

yeah, ive had this trailer for about 5 yrs, had no issues with it, other than replacing the lights. I've hauled it many many miles on many trips.

i think the tongue ball coupler on the trailer is twisted now, will have to replace that too.

Damn, looking at the first picture I thought your wheel got messed up. But looking at the last picture, and not trying to be sarcastic, you could probably bang/bend that back into place haha. At least good enough to get the flare back on. A little dent here and there adds some character; I've got one on the corner of my bumper from when some ******* decided to play chicken on a one lane bridge, and when I threw it into reverse a minivan came around the corner behind me. I ended up swerving to avoid the van and went through a guardrail. I guess I lost the 'game' and I was pissed about the dent at the time,but now I see it and think "that dent means everyone got to walk away." Plus I totally fucked up that guardrail haha

Well two body shops want to replace my whole bedside at $1800.
Two other body shops will just cut out the quarterpanel and weld in another, $700

I have a $500 deductible..so if i go the cheaper route i wont do an insurance claim.
But if i go the expensive route i will have to rebedline stuff..

What should i do?

Get a REALLY BIG HAMMER and bang it out lol. Or are there tears in the metal I'm not seeing? And are you going for showroom looks again?

If $700 is the cheap route, how much would it cost to get a new bed from the junkyard and re-bedline the whole thing? (assuming you could find a red one)
