Default Clownfish14s 2002 Ranger Edge

Hi everyone. I'm new here but instead of posting in the welcome thread I figured I'd just start out with my truck project.

So first some background. My name is Nick I live in Newbury Park CA and am 18 years old. This is my first car that I can call mine. I used to drive around my dads 2001 ford f350 before I saved up enough to get this truck.

Now for the info on the truck. It is a black 2002 Ford Ranger Edge Super Cab 4x4. It has only 130k miles on it and I bought it from the previous owner 2 days ago (3/3/13) for $4400. I am only the second owner. It is pretty much stock (at least to my knowledge) although it does have a flow master exhaust.

Main thing that I am working on right now is all the common stuff. I need to get new tires, brakes, wipers, ect. I'm also going to paint the grille with some plasti dip paint to get rid of that nasty grey color that it has right now. I'm also going to have to paint the seal things on the outside of the two windows. That aluminum piece or whatever. The paint is peeling off that pretty bad. Ill probably paint that with the plasti dip as well depending on how the grille turns out. After that I have a couple of things I want to do. I want to add a bar to the front to put some offroad lights on it. I also want to get some blue led strips to put under the dash on the passenger and driver side to add some more light to the cab and give it a cool look. After that I may throw some sort of lift kit on there. I really don't know much about any of that type of stuff so I haven't decided yet.

Here is a picture I will try and get some more soon.

Let me know what you all think I'm open to opinions and ideas!

Thanks,
Nick

Yes tint is in the near future. Just have to be careful with how much cops around here are a little fussy when it comes to that.

So I took the grille off yesterday to make sure I knew how to get it off and to make sure it come off easy and I am hoping to paint it this weekend if the weather clears up. I think I'm going to get some geolander AT/s tires soon. Has anyone tried these?

I've had them and justincredible is running them now. They are pretty good tires. Rode good, good grip in dirt and sand, of course they weren't that great in the sloppy stuff, but no AT really is.

Ok cool. Yeah I'd go with somthing a little more beefy but I have to drive to work everyday and I'm worried it would be way to loud.

Mine were wayyyy quieter than the bfg's I have now. The bfg's have a little road whine to them. But road noise doesn't bother me much I listen to pretty loud music.

From what I've heard they are very nice with awesome road manners. I think they are cheaper than the geolanders too

The wildpeaks are good tires too. They're getting more popular now. To me the wildpeaks look better.
