So I'm building this in stages like the safaripacific guy did, getting time to work on my truck is tough with all the overtime I've been having to work.
First part is done, the brackets and 2x2 HSS are on, as well as the license plate lights.
I also mocked up the spare to see how it looked, and how much clearance I'd have. I'll figure out a better plate mount once I put together a tire carrier, but it'll hang down for now. I also will put a 2" receiver on the bottom when I'm back to welding on it.
With my explorer springs and 6400s, I have 25" of clearance under the bumper, even on stock 255/70/16s. I'll gain a little with my summer tires, but it'll still be under the BC limit of 30" I'm also going to do the angled cut on the bedsides everyone does, until I get some more 2x2 HSS and figure out mudflaps so I can run sliders straight across like he did.
Also, this is why I wear a respirator when I weld, this was just from a half hour of burning 7018s
