Exclamation Big Red Mods-on-a-budget

This picture is when I first got the truck in Jan 2010

Puttin the rear suspension on (Sensa-Trac)

Pulled the interior to spray in some Dupli-Color Bedliner... Hopefully it turns out good, its in an aerosol can.

Wires for the sound system

Thats what I have so far. I plan to put some more (really cool) electrical stuff in tomorrow, after i spray the bedliner in the cab. Eventually there will be a second ham radio, and outboard lights... itll be a while on that tho...

Why are you bed lining the inside?

I'm just down the road in Gresham man!

It makes it easier to clean, and the carpet was nasty as hell.

Awesome! I have a friend that used to live out that way.

UPDATE: Not using duplicolor, due to poor reviews found on other sites... gunna use roll-on hurculiner.

Honestly, if I could suggest something better, go find or buy a vinyl floor kit for ext. cab ranger... And use it. Ask Shane (fx4wannabe01), he swapped carpet to vinyl, after finding a good used vinyl floor at a junkyard and completely cleaning it before he installed it.

I wouldn't recommend "bed lining" the interior... It's just not practical with a ranger and all the electronics and wires that run through the cab.

yeah, I thought about that with the electronics, but my friend has her ranger cab lined, and its great. she says that its a lot easier to clean too. I figured out how to kinda get around the wiring issue and still have it look really good, and be functional, without having the wires everywhere. the only one that i run into a problem with is the one that goes to the very back of the cab, straight through the middle of the back seat area. I figure that I can just throw a rubber floor mat over it tho and itll be ok... The other option is to clean up that carpet and throw it back in, but i dont want to have to deal with wet carpet in the winter (you know how oregon is lol) with all the stuff that I have in there.

Glad to hear you went with something that looks good, and is actually made for the truck.

I know what you mean by Oregon's water problem haha.. My carpet gets a lil wet and stays wet sometimes, but I always have my heat on driving on the floor, so it dries it for the most part. I have no mold smell either.

well, with the electronics that I have in there (the amp sits under the drivers seat) and as rough as I am on stuff, I dont think putting the carpet back in would be a good thing lol

If you go to rockauto.com, I think they got it for somewhere around $120 brand new if memory serves me right.

Yeah, I tried the local u-pull, and they had 2 rangers that were even remotely close to capable of having the right carpet, but everything inside was stripped, and they had regular carpet. I dont know of any other u-pull near Tigard.
