Default My 03 Mazda B3000 Dual Sport (ext cab)

Hey all!
Thought I'd get my build thread up since I'm always tinkering with my rides. So far in less than a week I've already removed the front bumper/valance/fog light assembly and cleaned out the fog light lenses. One had some rust surface in it and was making the light all hazy. Here's just the few pics I have, she's pretty much stock right now. Very clean, good low mileage for an 03. enjoy!

2003
Mazda B3000
Auto
3.0L (just a 2nd vehicle so I have two incase of emergency)
4x2
extended cab
tool box
stock tires for now (brand new from PO with 500mi on them!)
not a single leak, runs perfectly!
PO even put in a 6CD changer and new head unit

LOL! talk about a thread revival! haha

I still have the truck..its been my dd since May..actually because of that 'hidden' gem in the garage....bad tune so my piston went bye bye and turned into a 1,000 pieces....

But you are probably quick to be disappointed that it is only a 2004 Cavalier. Of course its intercooled, supercharged, forged bottom end, and the motor is on a hoist ready to be dropped in maybe tomorrow. But if it counts, it's beaten its share of well built Mustangs

Switza, are you part of a local car club and went on a cruise to Salt Lick this past weekend, by chance? Your ranger looks familiar...

----------

just for fun since you guys asked (and Im a photo-whore and document everything lol)...nothing special though as its just a fun little dd that gets 30+mpg if I stay off the throttle lol

lol I didn't go, but the Hoonigan folks are good people. Im friends with a bunch of em. I saw the pics posted on the FB group and saw your truck. I was thinking...'wonder how that handled in the curvy backroads' haha.

I haven't been on any of the cruises due to my car being under the knife..but soon..very soon.

and to answer your original question, I haven't done much to her. Infact, Ive had an issue about the time I started driving her as my dd. She only had 99k when I bought her. And less than 2k into my ownership, on the highway the wires fried and the wipers went out, dome light, door chime, etc. I eventually swapped enough fuses (10A) and it stopped blowing. But its not the motor, steering column switch, or anything. It seems the wires fried along the steering column somewhere. I tore the entire thing apart but the only spot I couldn't get to very easily was down the column, top side. So ive got to figure that out once the Cav is drivable again. I just haven't wanted to tear her apart and have two cars down for the count.

Yeah Stewart is my good friend but he was on his supermoto and I've always wanted a bug eye or hawk eye Subaru unless I some how could afford a new hatchback STI so I enjoyed getting to listen to them talk about their cars. My truck was always last but it was still fun trying to at least keep up and meet new people! Next cruise bring your DD like I did!

----------

My truck actually handles good in turns but not as good as the subarus, the VW and the two bikes. Still had fun though "cruising" around and hope they invite me to the next cruise!

lol my 3.0 is not exactly a fun back road cruiser...it'll do 80 easy and smooth, but 40-60 is not a good range and the handling cant be very good! Plus it would eat gas like crazy..

but the cav is my dd when its not under the knife..ill bring that one. but it wont be in the back of the pack..even considering that group you went with..

oh and Stewart was actually in my car at one point..back when it was on fewer upgrades and a really really bad rich tune. He needed a ride to get his S2000 and I met him through Team Hoonigan. He's a cool guy

Mine handles good for all I've done to it! You may keep up with the subarus but won't keep up with the bikes how crazy they got at some points. He sold the S2K to his brother so he now has the supermoto and his V10. I'm hoping to add another 2" lift to my truck this weekend so I won't be as brave in turns as I have been

Lol yeah forgot about the bikes..I miss riding when I lived in CO, so much better than TX when you can head up the mountain passes, its awesome. I topped my R6 out at 160 a couple times and we'd canyon carve those tight roads...it was an incredible feeling. But too many idiots here for me to ride a bike again unless I kept it out of the city.

Btw the engine is in the car now. But Im working with extending some sensor wires and getting the tune. She'll but running soon hopefully, then I can work on the B3000's wiper issues from when the wire shorted!
