Re: 06 XLT Pre-Runner Build (Updated Regularly)
for sure sold myself on the idea of the wider tires. heres same lift, with 32x11.5's on the same backspacing rims.
VS.
heres the ass end of the tires i used to have, 11.5 wide.
and now:
Its gonna look awesome with 12.5's and a regular width axle

Re: 06 XLT Pre-Runner Build (Updated Regularly)
I'm a big fan of this thread! I'm currently booting around toronto on my vacation. Maybe I'll see your truck around lol. Look for a red 2011 fx4 with alberta plates. I'm making mine into a prerunner soon. I'm just hoping there won't be problems with the new traction control systems and the kit...

Re: 06 XLT Pre-Runner Build (Updated Regularly)
lol... there will be a few issues.
swing down my way if your around. im from georgetown maybe 30 minutes from ya. or on monday i can drive through toronto, let me know where your located.
----------
took some fresh pictures of the truck this morning. i had someone ask me for a side pic, so here it is.
Im very happy with the height of the truck, but i may want a touch higher, havent made up my mind yet. It is riding like an absolute dream, so soft and comfortable compared to when it was stock!

Re: 06 XLT Pre-Runner Build (Updated Regularly)
Is it just me or are the front fenders darker than the rest of the truck?

only when you look at them from the side of the truck. mainly because your looking at them on an angle, where as the trucks paint your looking straight on. but yea i noticed that too.

Loaded up the truck, headed north for the weekend!

And that body line just looks a lot deep and more pronounced than the one on the doors. But other than that they look good.

Re: 06 XLT Pre-Runner Build (Updated Regularly)
~So the falkens are ordered, they will go on next thursday at the earliest. 33x12.5R15's. and im hopefully selling my 33x10.5's for $600 to one of the guys in the ORC.
~supposed to be picking up the wider axle this weekend, gonna double check on that one.
~also, trading my stock bumper for a prerunner bumper. going to change it a bit, but its a good start and gets rid of my stock bumper as i wont be needing that. going to run support tubes, build a new skidplate, and gusset it. I just needed a bar that is pre-bent for the front curve as i dont have a bender and dont wanna pay $30 per bend from a shop.

Re: 06 XLT Pre-Runner Build (Updated Regularly)
Just found out my heater issue with the truck. it would only blow hot air, from the sounds of things my bled door is stuck in the default hot position.... GRRRR. so about 6 hour job and a 80 door are coming soon.

I apologize to all of the other DSG owners in advance, but that right there is the sexiest DSG Ranger I have ever seen!

Re: 06 XLT Pre-Runner Build (Updated Regularly)
Hahaha thanks Fordzilla and Whiteranger. I'm so thrilled with the way the truck is coming together. I'm hoping to have it built by the end of the summer, so over the winter i can focus on my saltwater reef tank build.
