From 31's to 35's yeah, there is a little more of a difference. But from 33's to 35's it is not that bad. Discount Tire has a BFG KM2 in 35x12.50x15 for $248 each, and for a 33x12.50x15 they are $232 for a difference of $16.

I figured he would be picking up a different set of wheels anyway.
