The first hole is the hardest. After that there is no turning back and things get easier. Do it man, it will be awesome. Just research a crap load and pick up a few tubes of silicone. Measure a billion times, drill once.

It shouldn't be too bad. Just measure your roof to find the center, then space everything accordingly. It is a piece of cake man...well the spacing anyway.

What I'll probably do is use a self tapper over a drill bit. Usually doesnt want to walk like a bit does

Yea^. Mine were a impulse buy, so i did no research. It is really easy, tape, silicone, non permanent marker, drill bit, drill, de-burring tool. Done

The trick is to let the drill do the work and not put to much pressure on it. A little tape on the surface does not hurt either. I have had just as many self tap screws walk on me as I have had drill bits start to wander. Slow and steady will win the race....basically just don't push too hard.
