Lightbulb Door Panel Leather 'Upgrade'

ok, was starting out to buy some white carpet material close to 'shag' but thinking that would be wayyyy too hard to clean when, not "if", it got dirty. Had some leather-like material off some seating lying around off an old golf cart that no longer runs. and also being bored had 110% to do with it.

Started off by ripping the cheap carpet off the panel, and using a lighter to burn some of the fibers off that were still hanging on and sanded it down with 800 grit paper.

Placed it on a back seat that was in still-good condition, razor bladed it out with about 1/4 inch of the foam padding that was under it, and trimmed to size perfectly comparing it to the panel itself.

Didn't take any picture but had some 1/4 inch clear tubing laying around and wrapped/hot-glued some of the material to it as a seam or border, idk what they call them tbh....

With spray adhesive and a hot glue gun, sprayed the door panel with the spray adhesive until it was well coated and stuck the leather strip on and held it in place for some time until it dried enough to place and hot-glue the border/seam thinymabobber. looks alot better in person without the stupid camera glare...

And to compare it to what it looked like before, doing the passenger's side tomorrow morning, everything's cut out and ready to go.

tell me what you girls think

I'm with you somewhat on this. I like the door handle bezels, radio bezel painted and that's about it. More stuff like the defrost vents and knobs is overkill IMO
