ok so here it is. just over 1 year ago i picked up my ranger 4x4 with 63,000 for $4,000. i have always wanted a 4x4 and well now that i got it and my job gives me some more time to work on it. wish i took more pics of her when i got her but i didnt. the one draw back of the truck is that it has been a money pit. almost every time i turn around im fixing it and not modding it but its coming along and well its slow going.
so far i replaced the flex fuel sending unit, the main wiring (under the seat), new breaks all around, ball joints, new 4x4 transfer case shifter, alternator, p\s pump, starter. well over 3,000 just in work. the mods i have done has been well lets just say not so much. i am doing all the work myself at home except the 3 BL. i have done the paint and any thing that has been done just as long as it dose not get into the wiring to much. i painted the rocker panels,grille, bumpers, rims (all wit spray on bed liner), fog light mod, t-bar crank, new xplode cd deck and well for now thats all the mods. over the past week i have been doing work on the heads. i had the one on the right side crack and the left maybe warped. so thus far this is what i have done...

starting the work on the heads took the hood off

found some unwanted residents under the air intake manifold

found oil and water mix in the valve covers

all the blown gaskets, heads valve covers and air intake

right now she is still torn down till Saturday i hope.

finely got my new egr tube. the old one split down the side of it. was not wanting to go with the dealer but had a buddy use his discount and instead of 72.10 after tax i got it for 48.72 after tax. hoping to get my headers back from the shop monday after getting machined

just asking if any one has done a head job but is this normal to have water this bad covering a piston after the head cracking?

well got her fired up today and i think that i may have not gotten one of the valve cover gaskets on just right cuz after i ler he run for a bit i had some smoke coming off the right side vale cover

well hell got her fired today and ran a bit. drove like a champ ( until i got home ) !!!!! pulled her back into the garage and found out that i had an oil leak coming from both valve covers. gasket slipped during install. got em fixed and again to the test drive.. all was fine till i was bout to but the hood on and damn near fell on my ass cuz of more oil. the gasket on the right side slipped again. so now one more day i get to waist getting it all right one more time. at least i know the work i have done on the heads was good just got some tweeking to do and getting my tail pipe fixed now.

well got the oil leak fixed i had to get a new gasket. and why i was at it i went ahead and fixed my sway bar links.

i got it all done and now i am back onto the mods!!!!!
