1994 XLT Work In Progress

I bought the truck from my boss. 1994 Ranger XLT. 5 speed, 4.0, 4x4.



First thing I did was install a JVC head unit with new Powerbass speakers all around. Also bought a black diamond plate low profile toolbox for it. Took the fog light valance off, and decided to paint the fender flares and grill black.

The paint looks weird cause of my flash an being inside the shop







Got everything prepped for paint






While I had the parts in my Dad's shop getting painted, I had a buddy of mine put new Flowsound exhaust on it, with dual pipes ran out the back




Out with the old...




In with the new...




Now trying to get the pipes routed and fit right. *Note the spare tire is coming out when I build a rack for my bed*

All was going well till my clutch went out on my way home from work, and I had to call my shop to come to my rescue



Now I gotta put the truck back on the lift and replace the clutch. But after that, more progress will be done. Looking at lifts and wheels right now. Gonna run the tires till they're bald, then buy some 31's

To update on this, I pulled the transmission this afternoon, and turns out I exploded the input shaft in my transmission. So I'm gonna have to replace the transmission. But i'm gonna do a complete work over from the rear main seal all the way back and replace everything while I've got it apart

Well, the truck has been in the shop for a little over a week. I had to buy a new transmission, so I'm doing an overhaul from the rear main seal back. But in the mean time, the jack I ordered finally arrived, so I went ahead and mounted it.



Other than that, not alot else has been done. I'm in the final stages of paint on my flares, so theose should be done in a day or 2

So, its been a while since I updated this. I sold my fender flares to a fellow FRF member, so I'm in the process of getting new ones. This is how the truck was sitting as of May




I got some Mossy Oak seat covers from another member on here, and got them installed

Its looking good. How hard was it to take the fender flares off? idk why but I have been thinking of taking mine off.

They ain't bad. Just gotta squeeze the inner fender wells out. The pain is the stock fasteners. I broke mine. So if you ever plan on putting them back on, be careful. But I plan on getting Bushwackers. Just been waiting till I got my tire/wheel setup to figure out how much coverage I needed

Finally got some time to get some mud on it



Went to Home Depot and bought MDF board. Decided to make a custom sub enclosure




I made it to fit two 12s, and take up the whole backseat



And my cover still closes



After thinking about it, I decided to cut the box down to just fit one 12. That way I can still use some of the backseat. Got it sealed and the sub mounted. Now just ready for carpet





Finally wrapped it and mounted the amp





Finally installed



I took out my spare tire, and took the tire carrier off. While I was down there, painted my rear diff cover. Kinda crappy cause I didnt take it off.



Things were going good, but then had MORE transmission problems. My clutch master cylinder went bad, and leaked air into the lines causing my slave cylinder to stick. Had to drop the tranny again and replace parts. Thank goodness for warranties




Finally got the truck back on the road. Got my body lift on. Was saving for wheels and tires, when I stumbled upon some good deals on Craigslist. Picked up a set on Pro Comp 152 Simulocks for $250. And a new set of 33" Toyo Open Country A/Ts for $450.




Bought a pair of 2000 taillights from tykluss18 and got them cut out and installed. Will post pics when I get a chance. As far as I can think, thats pretty much all thats been done

Got my new taillights in. Now just gotta find a new set of head lights and corners. Or find someone who can tint what I have

Truck looks good! Did you really fit those 33s with just a 2" body lift?

Yeah. I scrubbed a little on my valence and bumper, but I trimmed them a little to compensate. But I'm looking at suspension lifts and SAS after I finish school. Then probably re-geared and 35's
