Default I couldnt resist bought a 1999

I was looking for parts for my 1996 Mazda B3000, and I came across a 1999 Ranger 3 door , for 500 bucks , it needs the following parts , windshield , rear window(the panel behind the drivers seat is broken and needs to be replaced), radiator support , and roll pan . There is the usual rust along the bottom of the doors and there was a Lund visor on the cab (a few holes to fill) .The engine and transmission have 160,000kms on them . I will be picking it up on August 11th and hope to have it on the road by the end of October . I will be updating this after I pick up the truck .

For $500.00, hell yes. If you need to you can always part it out for your money back, but this looks like an easily fixable ride. Fix it, sell it, and trade up again? If it does start, go ahead and change the plugs, plug wires, oil, and air filter out, and probably get a much better ride, and altogether better drive performance. Look for a reasonable windshield replacement. If the bck window has the rubber channel holding it in they are actually easy to replace with a buddy's help (probably find info in FRF).

Take your time , use lots of penetrating oil on the bolts and screws . bag and label everything , most important , take lots of pictures as you take stuff apart . That way if you forget how it went together you have a picture to show it

Thanks, for the info, we have never tried this before, this is his first vehicle, and I want it to be a learning experience for him and also me, the headlights gave us fits, we will tackle the steel member behind the grille and try to remove a fender, its almost like it is one piece.

Today was the day , I picked up the truck 3 hrs away , loaded it on the dolly using the rear wheels . drove back to my parents with a stop for supper . I spent a total of 9 hrs getting this beast . It looks like I will have a 1996 Mazda B3000 with a 1999 Ranger XLT conversion . I am installing the front clip and bed on my mazda .
I have a question too , will the front doors from a 4 door ranger work with a 2 door cab .
The tear down begins Monday , working 12 hr days this weekend .

Well the project has started , the conversion of my 1996 Mazda B3000 to a 1999 Ranger XLT Stepside . I started to dismantle my 99 ranger for parts , the front fenders, hood ,bumper and light assemblies are off , the carpet is removed ,sent to be cleaned. the headliner ,visors are out.I also removed the door locks and ignition . Tomorrow it is time to tackle the bed, hopefully all the bolts come out no problem
I hope to have some pictures tomorrow

It was a frustrating day , i couldn't find the tools I needed at my fathers. I did however get the alternator , a/c compressor , a brand new rad and surround , and a Class III Reese hitch . I also installed the high level brake light with cargo light from the ranger on my Mazda . I was amazed to find the Mazda was wired for the combo light already. I am going to attempt the bed bolts on the Ranger before I go into work
