Alright guys, here we go!
I have a 2006 Ranger 3.0V6 STX w/ 60000 on it!
Im in the need for speed, so heres the plan:
1) Eaton M112 from 03' Cobra
2) Manifold to fit the blower on my 3.0
3) Dyno tune to see how much HP it actually makes
4) Drive the hell out of it!
Alright, so first off I am not using the stock throttle body, upper intake manifold, intake, injectors, and MAF.
I tore all those parts off, just so I can get an idea of fitment:
As you can see this roller coaster looking fuel line is gonna be an issue..
After that I made a call to Tom Morana for his M112 manifold that he assured me that it bolted right in! (as long as I had spacers made to clear the fuel rails) So while I was waiting for the new manifold to come in.. I had spacers made.
The thickest aluminum I could find was 3/4".. and as you can see 1 was not cutting it, so I went with 2.. leaving me with 1 1/2" of spacers
The morana intake manifold came in after that, and I was very impressed with it!
So now was the time to see if it all bolts up and the pulleys line up..
Now, as many of you guys already know.. the supercharger runs off the crank, being connected to it by a belt... it definitely cant run off the fan! (at least I dont think it can)
So, I made a few phone calls to morana.. and he just couldnt understand how it wouldnt fit. So I decided to abort the mission entirely and not even worry about trying to supercharge my truck.
I had happened to be on corral.net and ran across a build where a guy took his 302 and mounted a M112 Blower on it... so of course I was curious to see if he could make something for the 3.0 in my ranger.. and this is what he responded with:
So.. i got back in it, and he shipped me his manifold that he designed and even a throttle body adapter to help clear the PCM!
At this point I am finishing up a custom spectre air intake and waiting for a couple loose ends to get finished up.
