My hardest issue will be finding the transmission close by. I already know the junkyard I got my current transmission from doesn't have any 4x4 transmissions for a 3.0. Cause if they did, I would have bought that instead and slapped a T-case on so I could have 2Low. lol.

I make my way all over this county and I've only seen one Level II and it was an 04 with an automatic.

It doesn't need to be a Level II. Just a 3.0 4x4 Manual.

So after spending last night and most of this morning researching transmissions, it looks like I'm gonna have to find a 4.0 5-speed, and rob the output shaft and extension housing from it. Reason being is that there are just not that many 2001+ 3.0 4x4 5-speed Rangers out there, so finding a transmission to just swap out will be difficult. The trans has to be from a 2001+ because I need the output shaft speed sensor to be in the extension housing, and 98-2000 trucks don't have that output shaft speed sensor.

Really wishing I had a 4.0 right about now.

Found my front axle and spindle donor. It's an 01 Sport Trac with 4.10 gears. Open, but so is my rear axle. lol.

Probably gonna nab the parts on Tuesday. The front driveshaft is trashed on it though, which sucks because it's the newest 4x4 truck they have. But, I'm pretty sure they make a rebuild kit for the rear propeller joint, so I might still grab it since somebody already pulled it when they took the drivetrain.

I'm pretty sure I can make the one I mentioned work. I'll keep you in mind though.

Said goodbye to the Explorer Full Length console today. Went back to the factory shifter bezel and a shorty console. Kinda feels more like a truck again and less like an Explorer. lol.

CB is now mounted to the back of the console.

I like that better personally. I had a full console and I just felt like I had no room at all. I did like the look of it though.

Do you have an armrest?
