I just want to weld my own third diff bracket. lol.

Well, I haven't updated this in awhile, because I haven't done anything worthy of an update. However, brake pads were picked up today. Gonna pick up the lower control arms next Wednesday, and then I just have to get the third bracket welded.

I have the week of the 11th-17th off, so the swap will be happening sometime then.

Alright ladies and gentlemen. The time has come. It is January 13th, and it's going down. Axle seals have been replaced, lower control arms have new bushings and ball joints, truck is parked in front of the workshop, and the front axle has been installed.

Tomorrow the spindle lift will be removed, along with all the 4x2 brake parts and the lower control arms. I'm aiming to have the truck back on four wheels by tomorrow night, and then take it in for an Alignment on Thursday.

What electronics?

I'm going with a manual transfer case.

I considered doing an electronic transfer case years ago, but when I started pricing out the computer, the 4x4 control module, and the shift motor, it was cheaper to go with a more reliable manual transfer case.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna try to update this better than I did during the 5-speed swap. It helps that I have a smartphone now and can log onto the FRF app to post updates from outside.

Got an early start this morning at about 7. Driver's side has been taken apart, and the new control arm has been installed. Shock is installed as well as the torsion bar.

Getting ready to throw the CV axle in, and then comes the knuckle and bearing assembly. Once the driver's side is done I'll move to the passenger side.

No pics at the moment, but I'm taking them as I go. I'll post them later tonight once I finish.

Pics later tonight. Everything is back together, every bolt is tight, diff id filled with fluid, new brakes and rotors, and blah blah blah. Still need to bleed the brakes, but it's together.

Turned the steering wheel a little bit earlier, and I heard a loud snap or popping sound from the front. I crawled under to see if something broke, but everything looked fine. I think the dust shield might have gotten caught on the tie rod or something. Gonna tear into it more after lunch and try and figure out what popped.

But once I figure that out, and bleed the brakes, the truck should be good to go. It sits soooo low in the front now. lol. I need a body lift BAD.

The popping sound I heard earlier was just the fender flare nearly getting ripped off by my tire. I had a blonde moment and forgot that you have to nearly max out the torsion bars to run 33's.

Body lift is the next mod. I hate how low the front sits.

Just took the truck for a test drive. I might have a possible ABS issue. But I'm not sure if I seated the connectors properly. I don't remember clicking them in, and this time I did. So we'll see if that helps. Other than that, the truck seemed to do fine.
