Did you use all DupliColor paint? When I did my grille I did 7 or 8 coats, with steel wool in between each to smooth it out, then I did either 3 or 5 coats of clear, but at one point I just stopped because it was orange peeling a whole bunch. I heard that polishing compound might could fix it but I tried some and it didnt do anything so I might lightly sand it or something then try some more compound.

I'm not even sure that the clear I used is supposed to be shiny because it doesn't say it's a gloss on the can, it's more of a protecting layer. So idk.

Yeah, I used duplicolor on my grill, but rust-oleum on the bumper. I actually used engine enamel clear on the bumper for better durability.

Mine is kinda orange peely, but from farther away it looks nice.

That looks like satin clear. Either that, or you sprayed really, REALLY light coats with plenty of drying time inbetween.

It was simply a can of DupliColor color match clear. I'm pretty sure that's how I applied it though lol.

Yeah, if you applied very light coats, it will build up very fast, but its gonna be very rough. Sanding and buffing would yield you nice results.

Thanks, Mr. Kick Ashe! Comments like yours let me know that I'm doing a good job with the build. I love doing it, I just wish I had the means to work on him more...

But no posts in almost 270 days, do you still own the truck?

He ain't bout that forum life anymore lol. He's been banned a few times and always hangs out in a Cali meet thread.

But yes his truck was my original model for what to do with mine. Always liked it.

Thanks Stewart. Yeah I'm not all about this forum anymore. It's administration doesn't like to let us speak freely because it might offend some people. So I stick to my regional forum because they're my friends and don't get butthurt so easily. ;D

Not exactly. I got my windows tinted and got a ticket for it haha. So that comes off soon. Just been spending money on bills and whatnot. Pretty soon I might be swapping in some performance rotors. Maybe rear discs too? Who knows haha.
