welll i recently bought a ranger for $100, its a 1986, 2.9L, manual FM145 trans and manual BW1354 transfer case, and she dont run

the plan is to get her going and then put my matching D44 and 9" in her from my 79 bronco







oh ya and she got a 3" body lift, 2" coil spacers and 2" of extra leafs so about 5" total lift

oh and she got vinyl flooring so no worrys about getting the carpet wet

first thing i done when i got her in the garden was put on another starter, then she would turn over and not catch, i figured it was cause shes been sitting for a while, so i turned her over a ocuple times until she would stay going long enough for me to go in the shed and do a happy dance and come back out and be shut off again.

so now i cant get her to turn over, and yes i am crossing the sylenoid out to turn her over, and now all that happens is she will be getting normal power with the key ahead, and then ill cross the sylenoid out and she will loose all power, then when i take the screwdriver off the sylenoid, her power will come back. and i put on new terminals and cleaned them up. i think next im going to replace the starter wire, and maybe the sylenoid itself (already changed it a couple times)

but now another problem, the fuel pump isnt cutting in. and yea its pretty random, due to the fact that she hasnt been moved and one day i tried her and no fuel pump
so now the bed is off, ready for me to screw with the pump

how hard was it to remove bed?

well i hooked a gas can up to the filter and got her running but still likes to die at low idle, so then i hooked the gas tank back up and she still runs but dies at low idle so now im going to change the filter, yay

few more pay checks and i should have one of my own. I can't wait lol

i got her running last night, i hooked a gas can up to her and she went good but still bad at low idle, and i hooked the tank back up and she was the same, so i removed the filter and couldnt get it apart so i smashed the hell out of it to find out there wasnt either filter inside, so now i need a new filter assembly because i already got a filter. but i might just get a plain ol universal one lying around the shed if i can find it

jus picked up a fuel filter, and new plans. if i can get the ranger to work right im gonna try to sell her for probably 300 or 250, then buy this one for $800




one of my really close buddys owns her, she got a new 6" RC susp lift, and 4" BL, 35" tires, and the 302 is bad in her, but i have 2 302s in my garage so i could get one from there for her. i would take the axles out of my 79 bronco and put in her instead of putting them in the ranger

well i got all the pumps and filters checked up so far as the inline pump under the cab, so next on the list is take apart the manifold and check fuel rail/injectors which im currently doing
