Well, I'm actually going a different route. Its going to be a L O N G truck. I have a 223 CI inline 6 with a 3 spd...
I've been trying to find a cab to start my single cab vtruck that I can cruise until I can get the rest of the stuff together for my crewcab. Searching craigslist, asking friends, asking neighbors, driving down old roads... I found nothing.
Yesterday, randomly, I decide to check out craigslist real quick and I find a 47-53 chevy cab top for 60 bucks. I immediately call and offer 40 if I get it that night, luckily he said yes. I sweet talked the wife into the deal and she finally broke in (with the agreement that I clean the house for 2 months straight).
Without further ado...
Looking at it, I find that the cab is 10" wider at the windshield than the bug is. Here, I am starting to mark cut lines.
Started cutting, decided that I will cut it in 2 sections and make different cuts such as the cowl panel (which I will be reusing as I want this as long as I can) the dash, the roof, etc.
Cut it square so I can reweld it later on.
