One big thing about installing a CB is don't be afraid to drill holes, that cable is sensitive you know. So punch a hole in that roof NOW!

lol

This thing has grown up so fast. *sheds tear*

I'm all for a real antenna. The shop I got to has the super super long whips, and mounts for like $30, or a Firestik for $35.

I just dont any place to mount it other than at the rear tail light and if i get the whip i have to get a mount then i have to get a wire, and also got to get the washers and bolts for it to ground correctly. all adds up quick, for the whip, wire, and hardware at radio shack its 20 a piece for all 3 which i dont want to pay so im probably just going to stick with the magnet

Don't buy rad shack garbage, all of their exposed metal crap rusts, bad.

If you do it, spend a little more.

You'd be amazed how far you could reach out with a real antenna. I have $60 in the antenna mount, spring, and antenna, the radio was $50. $110 and on a clear night I can talk to people everywhere.

But for car to car in a convoy I'm sure the magnet works fine.

well parts are 20$ at radiocrap.
at a truck stop off the highway the same mount is 5 bucks. the spring mount is 6 dollars. and you can find a nice antenna on CL for 20. thats 30 bucks. as for the wire you will have to do radioshack
