Great progress on this truck. I love how you restored it and made it your own. I can't believe I missed this thread. Awesome dude.

check the sending unit....do an ohm check on the float and check the wires.....the floats are notorious for corroding

mine kept giving me trouble so i said F*** it and got a sending unit for a boat from bass pro ($25) and a gauge (another $20)
both were cheaper than getting a whole new factory sending unit for the truck

i calibrated it and wired it in....i don't have a functional factory gauge but at least i have a functional fuel gauge of some sort

i could have made it work with the factory gauge with a little more tinkering (polarity is reversed) but i decided to just get it finished
i may fix it in the future but for now....it works

----------

oh yeah....

got the dash in and wired up last night

finally got her on the road...

been driving her for 2 days now with no major issues to complain about

lots of torque for a 2.8....i put the pedal down and she goes hard
no cooling issues
starts just as good as my 96 in cold weather

now to figure out where its leakin oil from....
everywhere i go it marks its territory

i'm thinkin oil pan gasket but with all the grease from the u-joints and axle and degreaser i've sprayed down there...its hard to narrow down at the moment....
