So the engine has been rebuilt and i have started the SAS. For right now all i have done is torched the front end out... (no more independant). Today i went and picked up some rims and tires off a buddy for $750. I got 15" x 10" black wagon wheels with 44x18.50x15 super swamper tsl's. I also today ordered my front leaf springs, bushings, and hangers to get me started. Also i ordered 4 pro comp shocks to start, but im sure i will end up getting at least 4 more before im done. I will try to get some pictures posted soon.

You need one tons. D44 and 9" wont cut it with those tires.

Its never too big. The axles will hold up with chromoly axle shafts and u-joints. I got a freind who has a bronco 2 on 44"s with the same axle setup and a built 302 and he dogs the hell out of it and never has a problem. Hes got chromoly shafts and u-j's. Im keepin the 3.0 and runnin 5:13 gears, so it should pretty much creep through the mud.

5.13's wont be enough gearing and your gonna pop those axles like a 15 year olds acne. Sell the tires and step down to a 38" if you want to go big. Axles still wont like the 38's but you will be alot better off.

I know it's been a few years, and I almost completely forgot I had this account. The truck took about 6 months to finish, but was completed. I drove the truck for about 3 years till I recently sold it. I did want to share some pics of the finished product though. Everything worked out well, did leaf springs all around, with the 44" tsls, and 5:13 gears front and rear. The truck only topped out at about 85, but was pure evil in the low gears. I took it on several mudding trips and climbed over every bush, hill, rock and tree I came across, I accidentally ran over 3 vehicles, one of which was my own. Over time I even got good at standing the truck up on two wheels. I crossed every lake, tore up every park and even escaped multiple DUI's. I guess you can say it was more than just a truck, it was a memory I will never forget. I eventually got so reckless when I drove it I decided I had to sell it if I wanted to live to see 30. So anyways, good luck with your builds and hope you enjoy the pics.
