Default Update! (exhaust time)

so i just returned from a week in North Carolina. Now its back to the truck. I decided against putting that 8" shiny tip on and having the exhaust exit before the rear tire. instead i opted to just dump the exhaust under the bed. this way i have the good sounds plus the whole exhaust is nicely packed up above the frame rails and i wont have to worry about the exhaust hitting anything on any trail. it was also easier for me to piece it together this way and save $150. anywho this is the setup before it goes on the truck.

its a flowmaster super 44. its going to be 99% welded, the only place it wont be welded is right before the reducer where it ties into the existing exhaust, it will be clamped. if there is a problem in the future with the clamp, then ill just take it to a shop and get it welded. i cant get under there and weld it right. so any suggestions? also, just to double check. the stock diameter on an reg cab exhaust is 2" correct? i measured and it seemed to be but it could have also been 2.25"

so i got my exhaust on temporarily, im gonna bend some tubes to make it seamless and such a little later on. anywho. the flowmaster super 44 sounds great! its similiar to a mustang gt sound, i really like it, no drone at 3000 rpm music can drown out the little drone that there is. a great buy for anyone looking for a muffler

will do..first thing tomorrow, the setup is now preferable though, it kind sticks down below frame rails, hence i need to do a better job when i get my bender

i changed my plans with the suspension lift idea. im going to rather get a body lift a little later on and just upgrade my shocks to bilsteins, i like the factory ride and i dont need new tires anyway

Did you just tape it up and spray it on the truck?

Oh ok. lol Do you live at the beach or something because that looks like alot of rust for an 08. My 93 is only a little worse than that.

lol, about 1/2 mile from the beach, plus some of the roads are under water at high tide, so that puts a hurtin on the truck. im gonna clean up the entire frame and stuff eventually and put some por-15 on it. its a ton of rust for an 08

use the long 13 mm sockets to get to the bolts easily, then if you dont have power tools, some one needs to hold the pulley from spinning while someone else cranks down on the bolt. we used a steel tube that was maybe 3 feet long to get the leverage we needed to loosen the bolt. it just takes some muscle and patience. biggest thing is to not let the crank spin at all
