Looks badass man!!
I picked up a 98 XLT for 2500, 2wd. Looking around this forum is making me want to lift it and pretend its 4wd. I have subscribed and am looking forward to see where this goes!

Default Prerunner Build Help

I want to build a mild prerunner, (something that looks bad ass, doesn't kill my wallet and be a daily driver) What should I do? What do I need to start out doing? I haven't built a prerunner before so all comments will help.

the basics to the look is fenders, tires, wheels, and some sort of kit. but even that will add up to roughly $3-5K. best way to start is figure out what you want out of the truck.

I live about 5 min from the Pismo dunes so I want to be able to get out on the dunes. I don't really care about jumping dunes. I'm only 16 so I defiantly need to watch my money. I was thinking some pro comp rock crawler rims wrapped with some general grabber tires, 4.5 in bulge fenders, tube bumpers and some way to lift cheap.

Ya I guess I didn't think of that. What would be a good suspension system to fix that.

Lets be real here. No matter what you start with, you'll want long travel. Just save now and do it right the first time instead of spending money twice

you're going to need to cut your axle shafts and sleeve them as an extension. or have custom axles made. but yes, you theoretically could.
