I was wondering if i should put a sho motor in my ranger but i don't know which one to use the 3.2l V6 SHO or the 3.4L V8 Sho or even if it will fit and work in my ranger if anyone has an idea let me know?

I think you need to research the sho a bit more.. If memory serves, even the sho series taurus was front wheel drive.

Yea they were but the v6 sho have the same bellhouse bolt pattern as my 3.0l v6 in my truck

just the other day i wondered if anyone ever dropped a Supercharged 3.8 V6 out of a T-Bird Supercoupe in a Ranger. I think it would work, theyre rear wheel drive

It's been done. I used to own a sho. Saw pics of a V-6 sho swap into a ranger. It was pertty sweet looking. And from what I recall, it's not that hard a job. And yes, it does bolt right up to the 5 speed.

As for which engine, go with the V-6. 3.0 or 3.2, doesn't really matter. They make the same power stock with the 3.2 having a bit more torque. You might have an easier time finding a 3.2 donor as are the POS automatic cars. That tranny just don't like being spun to 7K too much. The V-8 has issues with cams. I guess it's a decent enough motor if the cams have been welded. Not sure if it bolts up to the 5 speed or not.

i have 3 sho engines sitting in my uncles junk yard i have thought about this mod alot everytime i see them sitting in the cars

im about to go buy a 1994 SHO donor car to swap the 3.0L v6 in my 99 ranger ill post pics as i get it in there and yes the 3.0L sho motor does bolt up to the ranger 5 speed the V8s dont and arnt that reliable of a motor (been doin alota research on this topic)

that is awesome. the yamaha V-6 is an awesome motor. Way more power than the 3.slow vulcan and better mileage too....if you can stand to keep your foot out of it.
