Hey just thought I'd track my own progress and help out anybody else out there. I just bought a 88 ranger xlt 4x4 2.3L L4. The body's in bad shape but I don't much care, just wanted a 5 spd that'd be good on gas. Got it home on Sat. Patched the exhaust, flushed the coolant, and replaced the water pump. It needs a rear drive shaft, 51 3/8" GKN, searching junkyards tonight. I noticed a power steering leak last night so today I'll find the leak and replace the suspected seals, pretty sure it's the bottom seal by the pitman arm. Gotta buyu door mirros while I'm at the junkyard. Once it runs in 2H instead of two wheeled 4H, I'll take it to the apartment, since it's at a buddies house for now and give it a full tune up and flush all fluids. I've got to rewire the horn to pass inspection, eventually it needs new shocks and brakes. Any body out there with a late 80's model with some tips or advice?
