The idea of the Courier coming our way has got me getting even closer to my trusty truck that thinks it's an F150(no kidding, it pulled a stuck Ram1500 4/4 in FWD trying to get out of a snow bank). Maybe a complete redo in the form of a frame-off resto would make it even happier(minus the engine and 5R55 innard work since they perform perfectly). I would then get a couple of beater 2006 models out of the scrap yard for future parts. Sort of like prepping for a SHTF scenerio because of the after effects of Ford's self suicide(bankruptcy). Errrr.... maybe that's called the dreaded FHTF.
Unless they build a solid frame for the courier, give it some serious road clearance and drop a hefty engine in it, and offer payload packages, the buyer will eventually realize the "car with a box" that this is, is supposed to be a pickup truck.
Maybe Ford will wake out of it's dream and realize what people wanted is the same ol' Ranger that is every 10th truck that passes everyone on the roads today. With a 289 with no pollution junk on it, standard carb, all manual 4X4, same everything else...... well I had to change something.
I suppose it's too late to suggest to Ford that maybe they had a good thing going in the Ol' Ranger all along.
The frame off would need to include a new factory frame or rebuilt new equivalent all in one piece.
Thanks all.
