1988 Ford Ranger XLT V6 2.9L Restoration/Rebuild
My brother and I recently started on a little "restoration" project; really hard to use the word "restoration" when the truck is younger than both of us.
It's been a fun little project so far after about 2 months of work. Still quite a bit of work to do but I think it's coming along nicely. We have been documenting the progress on a blog page https://1988fordranger.blogspot.com/ so we can dump a ton of photos along the way for documentation purposes but also to have a reference point for piecing her back together. We've taken a lot of inspiration from the projects shown on here... so thanks to all of you who have shared your projects. We've made a bit of progress on the rolling chassis. Put new 30x9.5x15 BF Goodrich TA KO 2's on the other day along with new wheels. Just got the exhaust shipped in the other day and sent the motor off to be rebuilt. While we wait on the motor, we are working on sanding down the cab, hood, and doors and getting them ready for body work and paint. Once the motor is back we should be able to drop it in and get it back to a finished chassis.

Making a little more progress on the build the past few weeks as the motor and tranny are off being rebuilt. Have about 80% of the interior now, basically just the door cards need to be done and while I have all the materials for the headliner, I still need to get that situated and also need to figure out the color change on the trim parts. Debating between wrapping them in vinyl leather or painting them.
We have been procrastinating a bit on the body work and paint prep because I know how many hours will need to go into that part and frankly I'm not looking forward to it until the motor is fully in the chassis. Its coming along and hoping to have her back on the road by May at the latest.
