I have a 98 ranger 2wd with 2.5 and a 5 speed manual but the motor is shot
I also have a 95 with the 4.0 v6 and the body is destroyed
So with that being said I’m going to put the v6 in my good truck . I have both engines and transmissions out ..
my question start with motor mounts I believe the v6 was an option in 98 so can I go buy motor mounts for a 98 with v6 and it bolt in or does 96 and 98 v6’s have different brackets on motor .. it looks like the frame is approximately 2” wider on 98
My second question is wiring when I removed engine I unplugged a square master plug on drivers side of engine I took computer out of firewall and correct computer stayed with correct engine . Looking at these 2 plugs they look the same but various pins seem to be missing 96 had a tach and 98 don’t so hoping missing pins are optional.. would the important pins such as oil pressure water temp and computer power be the same

I joined this forum about 3 months ago and soon discovered this forum is pretty much comatose.
