Sounds like you need to find a new alignment shop...or maybe that's normal, and in Small Town, Tx (not really a city I don't think, just saying small towns here in general) that's just included

Edit: looked it up...apparently a proper alignment includes camber, castor, and toe....

Interesting- it was a firestone that told me it wasn't included. I'll call and get clarification. Or find another shop.

Did you get the 4 wheel or 2 wheel alignment? If you got the 2 wheel, that may be the reason

They didn't specify. I have a 2wd so probably just 2, but those were the front two wheels where the UCAs are. Gonna call some other shops too and see if that's included in their alignment.

There really isn't a 4wheel alignment on leaf spring vehicles.. only on IFS+IRS setups Not to say you couldn't whack something out of round persay but.

Well, what do you think of her situation? Did she get screwed, or is camber not included on a 2 wheel alignment?

Camber is not adjustable from the factory on 98-2011 Rangers....an adjustable cam for camber adjustment must be added. The fee for that is not a ripoff.
Chances are the frame is out of specs, if the camber is off. If the truck is lifted, you'll need the kit to align the wheels.

Lift done! Took a stupid long time to get the old shackle off until I figured out to use a scissor lift to push the leaf down. The old ones were installed with the lower bolt oriented so they couldn't be pulled out otherwise.

Drove it to work and back today- there's a little squeaking happening intermittently on rotation. I think it's because I neglected to add more grease after putting in the new spindles, maybe the bearings are under greased.

Greased the bearings and the squeal seems to have subsided. So I ripped out the bed liner, herculined it, and made the jankiest skid plate over ever. The hoses to the transmission cooler were way too low and exposed so I just wanted something to cover them.

I think I did something wrong with the herculiner- my paint roller seemed to suck up all the liquid from the herculiner so I was just pushing around the textured stuff. Might actually wire brush off some of the excess texture stuff and then spray it.

Next up- I ordered a spare mount because my new/used 31" spare doesn't fit under the truck.

You need to start learning to do this stuff yourself. It’s pretty easy once you do it once or twice. Especially if you ever plan on having fun with your truck. Tape measure and twine is what you need, plus there’s tons of information and videos on how to do just about anything.

Truck looks good

Finally got the adjustable camber bolts on after stupid me ordered a set of two- not TWO sets of two. Anyway, gonna try and do a self-alignment today or tomorrow. Looks like the driver side is toed out, but it drives fine.

Also sprayed the top of the tailgate, and got the spare mount 'sort of' installed. The center bolt wasn't long enough so I just need to go buy one.

Next up- work on that bumper. It had obviously rear-ended something before I bought it. The bumper sags and I need to see if it's as simple as new bumper mounts or if fixing those is a cut n weld thing that I can't do.

Also replacing the dimmer and headlight switches- got a good deal on both and don't wanna rip apart the front twice. So I'll do both for the heck of it once they arrive.

Bought a longer bolt. Also drilled the holes to mount BEFORE setting the height for my tire so yes I know it's not supposed to mount like that and yes I know if I'd read the instructions I would've seen the multiple times it said "DON'T DRILL YET". Whatever. It's sturdy. Good learning

Deciding whether or not to put the splash shields back on here. They're torn and gross looking, but I feel like everything up front is really exposed this way.

Investigating the aforementioned bumper brackets. There's body damage above the frame too- might be more than I really care to deal with.

Checking out the new parts while under the car.

Also really tempted to do some subtle black fender flares...

Aligned and ready to go! Second shop said LOL when I told them about the first shop recommending chopping the tie rods. They DID have to repack the bearings though.

Ordered these just now- biting the bullet on the grille conversion!

Anyone know if I need new bulbs for anything?

Been using this truck as kind of a reference for what I want mine to look like. Funny enough I found pics of this one after I ordered my wheels- same ones!

Started the process of swapping the front end today. Got almost done and the skies opened up. Figured "Hey, let's not mess with headlights in the pouring rain" so I'll finish when it dies down.

How it came

Primed

Painted

Before

Header panel out

My broken bumper brackets...

New header on

Progress!

Comparison so far

Need to finish the job, and order an emblem. Didnt realize they are different sizes!
