Default Auto to 5 speed conversion

Hey all, looking to convert my 2010 Ranger from an auto to manual. I understand that it requires a swap in computer, drive shaft, master cylinder, etc. So I'm looking for a parts truck. From what I've found, the Ranger used the same transmission from 01-11 but am wondering if the computer and other components are the same.
I've also come across the Mazda B2300 which used that same transmission, and have the same questions-will the computer, drive shaft etc be compatible?
Thanks!

You are in for quite the task, time to research everything before you attempt it. Here is a good start on a collection of info that's years in the making and somewhat organized well enough to get you started.

Thanks for your response and the great resource. The reason I'm prompted into doing this is my auto is at 120k and is clearly on its way out (as I understand this is fairly common). The o/d off light blinks after a few late shifts. I have to put it into low gear until I hit about 40mph then I can put it into drive, but downshifting is a nightmare. I bought it with 21k miles and it's been shifting hard and late since I bought it despite periodic flushes so I'm a little tired of it and want to upgrade, especially since it's a RWD and I live in New England, I figure if I gotta spend the money might as well go the extra mile and do a total upgrade. However, if anyone can recommend a relatively inexpensive fix I'm open ears. Thanks
