Default Project Ranger Things

Purchased my first Ranger at the end of the second week of March from a good friend of mine. I wanted to grab a nice daily and I've always liked these Rangers. I also own a 2014 Ford Mustang GT in the stable.

Here's some info on my Ranger.

2000 Ford Ranger XL Sport 2.5L
5 speed with 4.10 gears
169k when purchased.
Stock Suspension, rims and tires.

Project Ranger Things aka. BLACK

Heading home from Dallas to Houston stopped at a rest stop.

First things first. Went and paid a visit to my friends at the fire station.

Did a good wash and some detail work.

Ordered some replacement parts and upgrades. Went with the 01' front headlight conversion, 06`+ side view mirrors and a few minor things.

More pics to come.

So full disclosure. I've done much of this work already if you've noticed my avatar. Anyways!

After a few days I received some goodies in the mail. It was like Christmas! I received a box almost every other day.
01+ Front bumper
01+ Header Panel
01+ Headlights and Amber corner lights
06+ Side View Mirrors

I had a broken passenger side view mirror. Reading the forum I found out that you can replace those flag mirrors for the nicer and much bigger +06' mirrors. I got these from RockAuto.

Side by Side:

Old and Busted

New and fresh!

Super easy installation. Difficulty 1 Star.

Here's the front bumper before:

Some of the transformation:

Cleaned up the surface rust a bit.

After a few cuss words and bending a bracket or two and some rain.

Difficulty 1.5 Stars

The following day I did some paint correction with the help of my friend Sean.

Finished and paint corrected. (As much as we could!)

Even spent some time detailing the engine bay.

Here's some random shots of my detail work on the interior. No rips or tears on the seats, but they were a bit soiled. Nothing a good bit of AP and elbow grease can take out!

sorry for the low quality before picture. I realized I never took a proper before photo. But it cleaned up nicely!

----------

Headlights and Header Panel install!

The Night before I prepped the other conversion parts and also felt like being creative and got some expanded metal and made myself a custom "mesh" style grill.

Buttoned up and put back together.

Alright! Last and latest post for where the truck is now currently.

I don't have many pictures or think that you all would be interested in photos of me replacing the front shocks, but I replaced the front and rear shocks with some Rancho 5000 series. My first time dealing with non charged shocks.
so for those of you who might have been like me and have never had an uncharged shock. Yes. you can compress them with your own strength and No, they aren't busted.
I like the shocks so far. I'm definitely looking into replacing the front springs to help stiffen the ride more.

The tires were on their way out so I decided on a whim that I should go ahead and change them out for something more aggressive.

This happened soon after that idea:

I did like the way the truck looked when it was on the lift. Maybe later. lol!

The 31s really made the truck look awesome IMO! I went with some 15x8s wrapped in 31" BFG All Terrain K02

First time to play on some trails, unfortunately no mud.

Back at my buddy's place

A quick throw back of the truck from the first day I got him to present day.

And here's a little ford family photo of my squad.
