Alooooha! Well, hell boys and girls. I've lurked and gotten help from a bunch of you so I thought I would finally put together a log of her journey so far...
I bought her brand new about 10 yrs ago...and stock she stayed until about 2 yrs ago...
Then this was a sign of what was to come...On Maui, thank god for Amazon prime because some of you may spit out your beverage if you saw the prices the shops here charge for tires... 33x12.5 Duratracs
Went with some American Racing ATX 186 wheels 15x8's
Then the apparent jaw dropper...I think the actual last new RCD 5" suspension kit was hiding on Maui of all places...lol
The stock side steps didn't look good to me so...
And with the help of my loyal assistant....
Added some retractable tie downs because....truck...and I need to tie shit down...these are far more handy than the stock ones.
So here we are at this point...
And then this happened....traded in my wife's 03 Sport Trac and got this for her birthday present...so that stalled my blue for a little while..but hey, happy wife happy life ( and she totally deserves it) but that's a build for another forum..haha
Back to blue.... I had just about given up hope but out of the blue I was contacted by another member with these..This is after I sanded off the rust and repainted.
I actually broke my breaker bar taking off the originals to swap with these..and yes she's an autobot...don't hate.
And because I'm starting to gear her toward camping and such....We need more light!...notice the Dremel...yeah I kinda had to mod the light "just a little" to fit it there...
But, I really like how it turned out.. I also completely re-sealed the light since there are a bunch of complaints about moisture getting in.
So here we are present day...Some things are already on the way for her camping alter ego and plans for brake upgrades as well... so after a "little bit" of money, and some inspiration from here and other places, this is where she is...Thank you everybody who has helped with inspiration, answering questions - dumb ones or otherwise, to help her get to this point...
Aloha,
Keith
