Mine sounds just like that! Hahaha - we virtually have the same set up though, definitely a mean sounding cam! Sounding good!

It's been a while since my last post but today the ranger went to the exhaust guy to get my side pipes welded on and to have a set of custom cal-trac bars made up. I decided against the tryi-y headers due to the size of my trans pan, and went with the Hedman 88400. They fit pretty nice on the drivers side but i shaved the frame on the pass. side for a bit of daylight. Also I installed the QuickSilver shifter in the truck as well along with a hood scoop I got from the junkyard for $20. I can't wait to get my baby back!

I'm a little late with the update but here we go with the good and the bad. I got my truck back last Saturday from having the side pipes welded up and the traction bars made. (The Good) The truck looks nice, sounds great and the traction bars really do a great job with wheel hop and spinning. My dad and I were really hammering this thing and it was only spinning a total of maybe 5-6 ft. (The Bad) While testing the truck out we noticed that it was coming up in the r's pretty late but once it did the truck would perform, and came to the realization that I should have put a high stall converter in before we dropped in the motor and trans. So needless to say today we spent about 2 hours removing the trans ( the hard way, through the trans. tunnel) to remove the converter and have some stall installed by a friend of my dads. Now, when i get it back and installed hopefully I'll have a happier song to sing and a video of us tearing this thing up. Here's a couple of pics and a short vid of the truck running.

Just getting back in the house from pulling the motor out of the truck so that we can bolt the trans. to it when i get the converter back. It really hurt to take that thing back out of the truck but we would have never gotten the trans. back in through the tunnel. So as soon as soon as I have some good news I'll chime back in!

OH YEEEEAAH Phil! Sounds great and the side exhaust is awesome. Can I get some details on the traction bar set up? Can't wait for your epic burnout video!

not much fun at all! I ended up using a transmission jack under the truck, the bellhousing is a really a tight fit between the radius arm cross member. I didn't think it was possible at first.

@ Pete : ur right it's definitely not fun pulling the trans that way. But we yanked the motor last Saturday and we're gonna bolt the two together and reinstall them that way. @ Ericthehurt : Thanks alot man and the burn out videos will hopefully be coming in the near future. Here is the write up I found on the traction bars that the guy who made mine up used. Hope this helps out anyone interested. http://www.hotrodsandhemis.com/Traction.html

Hey guys I'm in need of some serious help! I got the motor and trans back in the truck two weekends ago and all of a sudden I have a overheating problem and the truck starts to bog down on acceleration after the truck heats up. Before I pulled the motor the truck would run at about 180* consistently. Now that I have everything back together it wants to creep up around 210-220* before I just shut the truck off in frustration. I put a 14" fna on it from advance auto that supposed to flow around 1400 cfm which is more than the fan I originally had on it and it still runs the temp up. I replaced the oem ignition box with a street fire msd and an msd blaster coil to help the bog on acceleration in which it did but again once the temp climbs up there it is again. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

did you use a new water pump? what size radiator? I would use at least a 3 core, try flushing the cooling system, odd that it worked n now over heats, may have dislodged some rust inside the block

No I didn't use a new water pump and the radiator is the same 4.0 rad. also. I was thinking that maybe the system has air pockets or like you said it may have some rust clogging things up. The only thing I changed was the fan. At first it was a little fan off an Mazda 626 or Millenium and now it is a 14" from Advance auto thats rated at 1400 cfm.
