I used Lokar KDP-2AODHT and SRK-4000. Will require Lokar throttle cable, but can get away w/ using the stock one w/ some modification; but I would completely recommend going with their cable also to complete the kit. Will require transmission pressure gauges. I am using a Holley 4160 600cfm vac secondary w/ this set up.

Allright X-Mas is here and my money is gone so I guess I'm at a stand still again. But the truck has really come together and I'm pleased at the progress I've made since June. Alls I have left to get in order to fire this thing up now are a fuel pump, headers, radiator and hoses. I still need to get a shifter and brackets but that can wait a while. I'm really anxious to hear this run and the closer I get to doing it the worse it gets. Well enough babbling here are a couple of the latest pics.

Looking good man! Have you decided on headers yet? If you go with Hedman 89500s, watch for how close that mount gets to the passenger side header. Mine was awfully close w/ those adapter plates. Edit - you running the exhaust or going to have it done?

Hey Pete, sorry it took so long getting back at ya, but I think I'm gonna use the tri-y headers as soon as I can get up the money and I'm probably gonna get Patriots side pipes to run along the side of the truck ( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PTE-H1050/ ).So I'll probably end up running everything myself hopefully to save some money.

Hey I'm also thinking of tucking the radiator in the core support, but I'm really going into this blind. If anyone has any tips or suggestions please help me out before I tear something up. I'm gonna use the 4.0 hd cooling radiator if that helps any. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, you'll need to tuck that in unless you're using the short front end dress. I used a piece of angle iron and found 2 convenient holes in the fame to bolt it to. I cut out the bottom of the core support entirely, and drilled two big holes in the angle iron for the radiator to sit on. Then removed any other metal that was in the way. Drilled through the front side of the core support for mounting the top mounts. Some cut the top of the support, but I didn't want to mess with the hood latch mechanism.

I made a new support brace for the extra piece that hung down, but I don't think it necessarily added any strength.

Here's a pic of the radiator in the angle iron

Going to need a fairly thin elec fan for that radiator that can pull some CFMs. Couldn't use a 16" Zegro cool, about 3/4" too thick. So I used a flex fan w/ 4.0L fan shroud, but depending where you live, this may not be adequate.

Thanks again Pete. If u have any other pics of this u could send that would be great. I think I get the idea of it though. Again, I really appreciate it, will try and get this done hopefully this weekend.

Alright, I'm one step closer to getting this thing fired up now that I have the radiator installed. A couple of suggestions and pics helped me a bunch. It is indeed the 4.0l hd ranger radiator and while it did add a little clearance room, the electric fan I had is too big so I'm gonna have to opt for a slimmer one. Well here's the final result.

All u have to do is go to ur local AutoZone or Advance Auto and get some fabric and plastic spray paint of the color u wanna do ur interior in. Either clean up ur existing interior or try and find some good replacement at a junkyard and get to work. I pulled the top dash out of a Bronco II and cleaned it up with some Mineral Spirits from AutoZone and painted it with some glossy black fabric spray paint and it came out pretty nice. The dash panels came out of another ranger at the junk yard that i did the same thing with, only using the plastic spray paint on it. I used the original visors just cleaned em up and sprayed with the fabric paint also. Hope this helps. Check the earlier pages in this thread for pics.

I finally got the ranger fired up today. Thanks to a little help from my dad we managed to hear it run for the first time since I've started messing with this truck in June. It sounds ok but my number sight and seven cylinders aren't firing for some odd reason. We pulled the wires (7 and 8) from the cap/ put hem back on and no difference. But when we pulled the plugs (7 and 8) and checked for fire against the block, the plugs were firing. So i can't figure out what's going on. Any ideas or suggestions please let me know. I made a video you can check out at

Did you end up using that b303 cam? check to see if you have compression on them - are you sure that the wires are just not mixed up?

Hey Pete, yes i ended up using the b303 and the wires were fine. Am I supposed to be using the 1-5-4 firing order or the 351w 1-3-7. Right now its wired with 1-5-4 and as I said it runs but it's not firing at the cap with the plugs in the block on 7 and 8, but if we pull the plug and leave the wire on the cap we get spark. As for compression we never checked it we just stopped fooling with it for the day after being confused and frustrated . So if you can help me out once again I will dance at your wedding.
