Tons of progress in the past couple of weeks! I'm impressed how much i have gotten finished these last few weeks,

finally finished the motor, its now good to drop in once i replace my motor mounts.

also got my axle swapped out for my 8.8 with Torsen LSD 31 spline and 3.55 gears. it sits perfect and looks even better!

The Brakes sit nice and full in the wheels

heres the downfall to what happened in the last couple of weeks. the radius arms both snapped off with minimal effort. so i will be ordering those in the new year. it can wait until after christmas. but here is how the chassis sits now. on all 4s again and ready to go into storage until i get the box and cab finished up.

And My Broken Radius arms--

Here was todays project. rear tailgate brushed aluminum cover. went from this:

To this:

and got started on the bodywork/paint/primer of the box. this is in the best shape so i will complete this then move it into the barn for storage until I'm ready to put it back on the truck

thats it for now guys! keep checking back for more! this was a big update but a lot has been done! project 5.0 is on the move!

heres some more updates.

motor and trans installed back into chassis, bolted up and good to go.

then got moved onto finishing the box. nothing too major. just a little body work and some paint. so heres the pictures of that. the hardest part is keeping the garage warm enough for the paint to cure. trying my best to keep it above 65*F

Finished adding the brushed aluminum panel to the tailgate. i filled the dents then sanded it all down. painted it with duplicolor black acrylic enamel paint.

next step is to sand inside of box then truck bed liner. i will be placing the box back onto the frame for this step. then the chassis and box can go into hiding for a few weeks while i get the cab fixed up and painted. stay tuned!

Bed Liner Went in this weekend. using duplicolor spray in bedliner. worked well but had to stab the can and roll it on. it did not like being sprayed.

really pops with the orange!

tinted the lights as well. i will have to redo them, they are too dark to be legal. and installed a soft let down tailgate drop strut. works amazing.

next is tonneau cover and toolbox!

What did you think of the Duplicolor? I used that stuff on the floors of the tub of my jeep and it scratched pretty easily. That said I didn't sand if for crap other than smoothing out my welds with a flap disc on the angle grinder.

so far so good. only time will really tell. i prepped it really good. sanded everywhere and made sure it went on smooth. but once i use it i will find out the real truth behind it

made some more progress today, it was a snow day at work!

fuel tank is back in place, re wired and all finished. not much left to finish this frame. driveshaft is almost ready to go, then some small wiring things then the box can go on!

also got my reverse harness hooked up to the transmission and ran the wiring down the crossmember.

also made progress on the alternator. i originally had a 1g ford alternator on the truck but it wouldn't keep up with the sound system and regular starts. so i am replacing it with a ford taurus 3.0L alternator (3G) with internal voltage regulator its almost a single wire setup. but with my theme the alternator had to go black! so thats what it did.. heres a before and after:

this is the alternator mocked up into spot. just waiting for alternator brackets from jegs to come in. then ill have the perfect setup with turnbuckle tensioner

more progress. the frame has come out of the garage, to get its box put back on. the snow was a little tricky pushing it but still managed. so heres some pictures of everything buttoned up.

this orange is crazy bright!

heres some christmas eve photos, been debating trying to hook a larger clutch slave but having a hard time finding people that have swapped them. I've heard lots of people swapping f-550 masters into 98+ trucks but nothing on the older ones. anyone have any experience? might have to fabricate something half decent to fit a larger one. but heres a picture anyways.

and moved the chassis into the barn until i need it again. i taped up all engine holes and ports to assure i wasn't going to have any animals make there way into the fresh engine.

that will be it until after christmas. I've got big plans. just have to wait. 3 weeks of christmas holidays will help speed things along! stay tuned
