Default Vista's Lowered 98

Figure Id post something about the daily. Ive went to the darkside.

Picked up a 98 standard cab back in January for well...free.
Light Denim Blue, 2wd, Auto with 4.10 7.5

I drove it for a couple months to figure out everything it needed. The list grew daily, but it was a good little truck for my 100 mile commute.

The truck was rough to say the least. Needed new rotors, drums, power-steering pump, belt, idler pulley, belt tensioner, new ujoints(never seen ujoints so bad).... and basically everything that has to do with the suspension. Lower ball joints were shot, uppers were close..

So the decision was made...if I have to replace all the suspension anyways, why not lower it in the process.

So I picked up a DJM 4/5 for a decent price. Ended up lowering it about 4/6. Put a C notch on the rear and its a now its a whole different truck.

This winter Ill probably tackle the body work.

Right after its first bath and getting a new power-steering pump. Couldnt stand the whine anymore.

Got some new shoes for the old girl. 215/75/15

Then I started the drop. Got the front back together and back on the ground

Had a hell of a time doing the flip kit. Just didnt have enough clearance between the frame and the spring to get the axle over top. Didnt feel like messing with the leaf springs, so i picked a notch kit.

So I cut the notch out. Then cleaned up the frame some while I was in there. I couldnt get the upper shock mount undone either. Rust hit it hard. So I replaced that at the same time.

Finally got it all set back down and dropped.

Now I bought 15 inch tires for this but didnt have the wheels yet. Was originally going to just buy some 15x8 steelies. But I had a couple Mickey Thompson Classic IIs sitting around and figured maybe ill try it. So mounted up a tire to see.

First drive up to my buddies house and I started eyeballing his wheels on his cressida. Its down for engine swap and such so he let me try a wheel on... needless to say I might be running these this summer i can get the front to fit. Nothing like rocking some wheels worth more than the truck.

How she sits right now...

Short term is to continue fixing everything that was neglected from previous owners. Don't know how crazy I want to get with it yet

Started looking at the truck some more. Found out that the core support is well pretty much gone. So add that to the list that will be replaced in the near future.
