I'm a little late to start a build thread, I've had the truck for over three years now. My trucks far from how i got it but there's a long way to go, I started with a custom fiberglass console and I died the interior black, my senior year of high school I skipped senior trip and lowered the front end,which was a huge pita, the rear wasn't far behind, but it took me a while to actually to mount the I bolts so my rear end didn't move when I hit the gas, then it was another long time until I notched the frame and got rear shocks. Last spring I replaced a rear main seal that catastrophically failed in philly about an hour away, and had the trans rebuilt, my current project on it is pulling the engine to fix a leaky pan gasket and replacing most of the other gaskets, headers, and possibly a cam. As soon as that's squared away, body work and a paint job are the last big step, I wanted to share my truck because there were a lot of things I couldn't figure out for a while even with the forum, so if there's any questions just ask me, I'd love to help everyone who needs it.

Well, got this sucker popped out yesterday, my plan is to clean it up replace all the gaskets, water pump, oil pump, etc., rebuild the heads and polish them, and put a cam in it.

A couple exhaust studs broke in the head, not even an oxy torch could loosen them, so at my brothers machine shop, we drilled them out and re tapped them. While we were there we checked for flatness and cleaned up the mating surfaces with a flat stone.

So the engine is in and I'm just finishing things up, I got a new job doing powdercoating and hydrographics so I hope I can do a lot with this while I finish up the build

Liking the build so far, where did you get the headlights and corners?

I got the headlights and corners on ebay. It's getting somewhere, I've been sick so it hasn't gotten much work, hopefully I can do the ceramic on the headers this week at work

What size soft 8's & tires? Been thinking of going to 17" soft 8's

They're 17x9 in the rear and 17x8 in the front, 245/45 17 tires in the front, and 275/40 17 in the rear, the soft 8s look good and where too cheap to really complain, but they're pretty heavy, if you can afford to get yourself a good alloy wheel I'd do it, I see cheap alloy wheels that crack with stiff suspension all day at work, as for the tires the bfg sport comp-2 all seasons are awesome if your truck is a daily they where great in the wet and even snow but still good in the summer

I like the way steel wheels look, plus cheaper & more backspacing options, so I'll probably stick to them. Trucks looking good, by the way

Truck looks awesome, I'm subscribed.

I wanted the all seasons for my Camaro but they don't make them anymore in the size I needed. So I just got the summer version. I've got the same widths as you front and rear, I bet your tires stick like glue

All I need now is ceramic coat the headers this week and it's ready to start up, headed to the DMV to re register it
