Default 1999 Ford Ranger xlt

This is a build project on my 1999 rust free ranger xlt. It is a 2wd truck with the 2.5L 4 banger. I am looking to do a camburg 5.5 and maybe the fox 2.0 upgrade in the future

Hell yeah - prerunner build. You got me subscribed for sure.

What will be first? Burg 5.5 kit or fenders?

I've always thought the Camburg 5.5 kit is a bit overpriced for what they actually give you. Have you considered the BTF kit?

I have looked at their kits before yes. I have a fab shop close by (Griffen Fab Works) and he suggested the camburg kit i have some questions tho and will prolly stop by again soon. i was trying to keep it street legal sense it is my daily driver.

Well I had a change in heart....decided I was better off getting a separate truck to do the prerunner kit on.

I want to do the same rustproofing to my 99. Would you mind sharing what you used? All I have on there right now is cheap black spray paint to pretty up what you can see.

What I did first was I took the box off and chipped rust. After that I put down a heavy layer of anti rust proofing, it was an airplane grade and really expensive(can get the name of you want it). I let that dry for 3 days in the sun and then put a good layer of standard waxoyl rustproofing (the black stuff) over top. I am noticing that the second layer of waxoyl is not staying on very well. That second layer was just to make it look nice.

This is what the front looked like after I applied the airplane grade rustproofing. I didn't end up adding any black to the front
