Check out Part 2 of the HDRA Fireworks 500 race by F.A.S.T. Racing. You can see how fast (lol or how slow at times) we are going very clearly on the GPS. This is not even close to the highest setting we could render at. I am not sure why the 3 view split did not have the bottom views filling up the screen. In sony vegas they were stretch and moved to cover the bottom of the screen. This was the first race/time I had a different co-pilot, my cousin. For the very little seat time we got to practice, he did pretty good. Rockin on the river is only a few weeks away and we will be racing two classes at our home town Laughlin. Our 2013 schedule should be coming out Late November. Some changes going on in the F.A.S.T. Racing compound (garage lol)

First time poster but I've been through this thread multiple times since it started. Just wanted to say I have a lot of respect for you and everything you've done. Got no idea how bad I would love to be out there and have the resources to do what you do. Keep up the great work.

thanks a lot man, check out the newest off-road magazine has camburg on the cover and an article on myself and the truck

----------

As most of you know I have one arm, well I had a paralyze arm until last year I decided to get it amputated at the elbow (some of you may have saw the pictures). Lots of changes are happening to the truck to get it ready for pro class, and there is very little that I won't tackle by myself even when I have help. I do all the computer/video/marketing/etc by myself minus website. Dad has been working so he has not been able to help with the changes. I usually get some help a couple hours per day once in awhile. I have been out in the garage pulling 10 hour days. First I tore truck down to frame, then one of my co-pilots cut a lot off while I was in CA for a week, and now I have begun fabricating new stuff. With two feet, teeth, and things around you, there is very few things that I cannot do (on this truck) with one hand. I have tore off (or put on) everything on this truck at one time or another by myself. The only things I do not tackle alone are pulling third member, trans, and motor. Have pulled the suspension off before. On top of that, I grind, notch, weld, and paint. Over the last few years I have grab hot metal several times, bang my head or body into a bedside mount, bruised and cut my last 5 knuckles a hundred times, metal in eyes, wire wheeling and have it slip off and tear into my skin instead, etc. Two weeks ago I jumped in to pull the last shocks off, even though I had a helper who was doing it and the entire beam/hub dropped on my foot. I got very lucky that it did not break it. Well today brought more pain in blood. Began cleaning the back of the truck, welding areas, and then started fabricating new tubes. Had my co-pilot down from vegas and had him doing all the grind work. I then jump underneath the back of the truck to weld and then began to use a grinder with 36 grit 4.5" paddle wheel to clean up a few more areas I knew needed welding. Instead of getting out and waiting for him to prep areas before jumping into weld again. Well long story short, was underneath were fuel tank sits and began trying to clean the angle iron at the corner where it connects to the tube. In between the little tabs that hold the skid plate up. Was all crunch underneath with head not to far away. Minute or so later cleaning that area, pain and lots of blood. Grinder bounced and bound in between the tab, I was pulling it back (I believe) and it flew into my face/nose (had safety glasses on). Next came the pain and blood. Lol I saw the corner of my nose and thought a chunk was hanging off so I asked my friend is it bad? He is like well get out from underneath the truck so I can look at it. Ten minutes later taking instagram picture and then I was back in the garage working on the truck. Hopefully by February I will still have all the needed parts to race, with the amount of hours I am putting in by myself. Well enough story telling, picture time
https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...77890046_n.jpg
this was like 6 hours later, there are cuts underneath from the paddle wheel and on top there is like a hole, I dunno its all numb on top. I took a huge hit to my crf450 handlebars in 2003 jumping off the top of Comp hill in pismo. I f up my nose bad back then. Never went to Dr's so I figure it has already been broken once, cannot get much worse lol. I think its like a burn in a sense I took a few skin layers off, that is why it is so red.
https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...27669957_n.jpg
I go with the over on whether or not I am going to hurt myself again before race day, lol

The way I see it, this past year was the best year in my life since my accident in 2004. This sport bring joy and happiness back into my life. I enjoy the adrenaline rush of flying through the desert at high speeds and the competitive nature of racing so much. I will give my body, blood, and heart into this if that is what its going to take.

It took me awhile to finally complete this video. Originally I was trying to grab every smile, but it was to long. I am very proud of this video I made, spent all night and by far my favorite. I am just a beginner with basic skills on Sony Vegas.

Myself and two team members of KMR brought the truck and volunteered at the 2012 SNORE & Make-A-Wish "Wish Ride" event. It was amazing, I cannot wait to do it again. I cannot thank my sponsors enough for making it possible that I can give back and do this, especially Raceline for giving us boxes of hats and steekers to give out to the kids.

Please share and post any wish videos you have.

Thanks

Keith Minnicks

hey guys well we started out the season with a first place win in class 7 with SNORE at the Battle At Primm. I have uploaded videos of each lap about 16-17 min each on my youtube channel. Will be making highlight video as well as trying to update and post pictures of all the changes we made to the truck. We barely made it to the race.

Hey guys.... It has been a long time since we updated what has been going with FAST Fabrication and the new team name KMR (Keith Minnicks Racing, formerly FAST Racing). Here are some updates from when we ended our rookie 2012 season with a 4th overall in the 1450 class with HDRA. I did not take very many photos, but here is what I do have.
I realize I have not posted race photos and videos since the Fireworks 500 race last July. We had 3 races after that in 2012 one of which I have not yet made a video for. I will try and go back and make a little photo video collection after this.
If you want to stay updated, we are constantly putting photos and videos up on our two facebook pages.
The race team page https://www.facebook.com/KeithMinnicksRacing
The fabrication page https://www.facebook.com/pages/FAST-...28619223837366
We also have a twitter and instagram page. I am trying to update them more often on days we are at races or in the shop. Been so busy with the complete tear down at end of last year. Then the three races back to back and making all the videos and graphics this year.
December last year we began tearing the truck completely down to make some changes.

We pulled our motor, come to find out it only had two good cylinders, and one was toast. Picked up a new motor out of a mustang with only 18k on it.

Began cutting stuff off to make changes and fix issues on the truck. Cut the rear dual spare mounts off.

Pulled every part off and cleaned, painted before going back on. Will be doing this again in next few months but this time powder coat that matches paint job of truck.

Cut off the upper wishbone mounts off, and one of the lower GMR mounts. Got a centerline and put the rear end at the wheel base we wanted. Welded the GMR mount back on so it was in the same place on both sides. This was to fix all the rear suspension issues we had last year (curved coils, bent wishbone, snap spacers) and finally the broken upper mount ear on the first race of the second day. That was the end of our 6 race 2013 season.

Began making our new upper wishbone and mounts and setting up the geometry on the rear suspension. Used 4130 plate and tube for everything. Built a jig for the wishbone, used the new armada unibal bung, and tig welded the wishbone.

Other changes we made, before putting the truck back together. Like lowering the rear coolers to see out of back window.

Single spare mount, lighter removable bedside mounts (prevent stabbing and jabs in head and back while working on truck)

Reinstalling to make the first race of our SNORE class 7 season the Battle At Primm

Some of our new sponsors for 2013, were KMC, Lucas Oil, Primo Powder Coating, and McQueen Prototype Glass, truck looks great.

We worked 14+ hour days the week of BAP, we didnt make it to the Primm until 30 minutes after tech had closed. Nearly did not pass tech due to a failed brake pressure switch. Photos and video next.
