Reglassed the precut holes

We got the flexplate last Friday but they sent the wrong one, hoping the new one will be here tonight or tomorrow… got the shifter parts mounted to trans, it is just waiting for the flexplate so it can go in.

The website is almost done... he has to redo the service and builds page and a little on team page........... if anyone needs anything let me know. i hope to see some of you guys at the offroad expo

We mounted both pumpers... the old location will be our new mount for the impact most likely

Fire extinguisher mount

Built a foot mount on passenger side, going to do a small one on drive's side

The flexplate finally came... can get to business tomo.. were a little behind because of this but working hard

Default Re: FAST Fabrication 94 b4000 turn into SNORE class 7 race truck

We got up this morning thinking it be a great day.. first words to my dad was you ready to get back to some real fabricating… Never did I expect what would happen next.

First ran into a small set back, at least we were smart to check and make sure the two starter bolt holes (the ones with threads in them) were not damage by checking to see if the bolt threaded. Well they both had been heli coiled, and one of the holes was not drilled all the way through and did not have locktite. We could not get the bolt to thread in, so we used a tap and the tap pulled out the heli coil. We thought it was just gunk up at first or they used a std. heli coil in a metric bolt hole. When we got it out learned it was the right heli, but due to the improper installation bolt did not thread in. Went to Autozone bought the 30.00 kit and we were on our way after an hr set back.

The main reason why it was good we check the holes early is because we planned on installing the trans with the truck still at scrub, because the motor was being held up in the back by a jack, so if we wanted to lift the truck we would have had to strap motor and put wheels back on. So imagine figuring out the bolt would not thread in while your squeeze underneath the truck with a heavy trans balance on a jack. Before we actually decided to tap it we had been threading the bolt in and out with oil trying to clean it out. So props to my dad for thinking ahead. Next we got the torque converter on the (making it much heavier) and lifted it to the back of the truck so we could slide it in from the back.

About 30 min later and 5 arms we ran into a huge set back. The trans was not pushing on easy with the torque converter in, we had got the two main bolts with the pins in and still needed to push the trans on about an 1/8 and as we went to get the last push so we could put the rest of the bolts in, we heard a pop. The bellhousing had cracked, after getting it apart we learned it was already cracked and we had just snap it off. In the pick the dark spot is were the aluminum had been cracked and dirt and air was getting through. After closer look we notice that were they had done a repair down by the start bolt hole, there was still a crack there.

We decide to not make the whole day a waste and knock out the last piece we could do in the cab (until trans was in)… we will be offering these as a two piece kit with pop rivets included. You can bolt or screw in or even weld in if you like though. Very low price for a nice little add on to your truck.

Sad to say won’t be testing at end of July… Mostly due to funds, I was not expecting to have to buy the flexplate at first and now I have to buy a billet bellhousing. Those two things amounted to the cost of my driveshaft I needed to order. So going to set me back a month due to funds and two weeks due to time frame to replace bellhousing/flexplate. Hopefully I will be testing first week or two of September, but no promises, now I know can’t expect things to go smoothly, especially when ordering parts and shipping problems. I will keep you updated and work on other things as well.

Here is our secondary door lock...its nearly complete only thing that is not done is our red ball knob, we had to order them offline since we wanted a red one. Whats nice if you do not unlock it all the way up, when you close the door it lock its self into position. Very simple and much easier to use for me then having to reach across and behind to undo a bugpack latch.

As we wait for the new bellhousing to get here we are tying up little things that we can finish. One thing we had been putting off was fixing all our NEW shocks, two needed new aluminum ring seals in the resi (this was a manufacturing issue). When we refilled the oil of one of those we found another shaft damage that would have to be replaced. I had found a rear coilover shaft damage last year when we order the 2" ends to replace the previous 1" the first shop put on without soft jaws. We replaced that shaft, its actually the new shaft the sway a ways come in. So I need to order another shaft to fix the one bypass and we need to put the 2" long ends we got for the rear bypasses on. It really upsets me the amount of money I paid for these new shocks and the condition they are in with never being ran. I was considering letting things go with the previous work but now its not just fabwork... it is brand new parts that I paid for and entrusted him with. You really have to be careful in this industry, live and learn.

Bellhousing showed up while I was in Cali, it got mounted and trans went right in. Tomorrow will start on transmission mounts.

They worked on the F-350 while I was gone. Built a sub box and and amp mount all that fits nicely on the back panel between stock plastic interior panels.

The website is nearly complete, just need to add our build galleries and update the new shop number 928-239-8686 on the site.

Hoping to have a good month with few setbacks, get fabrication and plumbing done and have electrical laid out so can order the parts we need next month. Stay tune for lots of updates as we fab new stuff and our exhaust.

Secondary bump stops installed. We made these because how low we dropped the motor. If the hydraulics bump stops blew the beam would go into the motor.

Once the bump stop is fully compressed you can see we have a little gap before the secondary bumps, this is so they don’t interfere with the hydraulic bump stops normal operation. They are only a secondary precaution in case a hydraulic one blows on a hard bump or crash

Finished installing the boots on the heims on the front (radius arm and beam end)

Shocks are mounted for final assembly, load is not set yet on coilovers

Finally got to start the transmission mount, get those tiged custom boxes we made awhile back up underneath the truck and build the rest of the parts for the tranny mount.

Got the boxes in and fitting nicely after grinding off parts of the old radius arm mount from previous kit, after we were happy with where it was we tacked it up. Tomorrow will build the final two plates to the mount, bolt it all up then fully weld the boxes to the frame. The exhaust runs through the big dimple, we set one of the mufflers up under the truck and they are huge probably going to build two mounts per muffler.

Keep checking back this week for some new fabwork

Had a long day building the bolt on plates to the tranny crossmember. Just need to fully weld the boxes to frame tomorrow and enclose the ends of each box and the transmission crossmember is complete. No more having to remove crossmember or tilt transmission to get it out. Four bolts and mine drops straight out.

Got the front hangers built and installed, the rear hangers will most likely be built into the carrier bearing mount

Pipes are all cut and welded up install tomo, we use high temp caliper paint and we will be using header wrap on top of that.
